MLB 2010 Season

There's a lot of stuff like 'don't bunt for a hit late in a no hitter', 'don't look back and see where the catcher is', etc., but this is the first I'm hearing of 'don't run across the pitcher's mound'.

Sandra

I remember when Pete Rose's hitting streak ended, he was pissed that the pitcher tried to get him out. He said he was entitled to see all fastballs in his last at bat.

Don't look back. Something might be gaining on you.

Now, now....don't complain about the mercenary. Was it one of those Steinbrenners that said, "I am giving the fans steak, they don't ask how I killed the cow"...? LOL! Your team has perfected the art of hiring mercenaries.

Be haapy he is not a Red Sox, some of those recent playoff and World Series wins would NOT be there without him.

We've loved prior mercenaries like Paul O'Neill, David Cone, Jimmy Key, David Wells, etc. We have to keep up with Boston's mercenaries like Josh Beckett, Manny Ramirez, etc. ;)

But A-Rod and Clemens will never fit into that category. Ever.

It just shows how much of an ass Arod is . And his lack of respect for the game. Steroids is another example. MLB Network nailed it by saying only Arod would have done it.

It is funny how often it's the Lightning-Rod. Yelling HA! at a player ready to catch the ball in front of you? A-Rod.

Knocking the ball out of Bronson Arroyo's glove? A-Rod.

Possibly the first person in the history of baseball to create a stink by crossing the pitcher's mound? A-Rod.

And the list goes on...

Right now, who's the best team in baseball?

I know it's early, but who do you think is setting the pace?

I know this doesn't directly address the question, but just maybe, the Washington Nationals will become the best team in the National League shortly. They are 1.5 games out of first, their best starting pitcher is just tuning up in the minor leagues and will be up in the bigs shortly, and with a paltry $60 million payroll, they will be able to affors to buy a few stars if they are still contending a month or so from now.

VERY true! But he was even disliked on his own team.....

Yeah and Johnny Bench hated him because he was more popular in Cincinnati than he was, even though Bench was more popular overall.

They have to be patient with that team and they will have a good team.

It didn't bother anyone when "Reggie" threw his hip at the ball in the World Series, or when he used to pound nails into his bat to make it harder, or when they found that the bat he used to hit three homers in a game against the Red Sox had a flat side to it.

I met Bench years ago at of all places at an Evel Knievel Jump at Kings Island in Ohio. Check out this video when asked about Pete Rose.
