MLB 2010 Season

Yeah. He lost all his hair after he left Happy Days.

I remember when Carl Yastrzemski was having his career year in 1967, and he was described as a 27 year old, well seasoned veteran. And Mickey Mantle won the Triple Crown at 25, He was a veteran, too. Now, there are 27 and 28 year olds who we are waiting to break out into the player they are destined to become.

Depends when you came into the league. Pujols actually is a seasoned veteran. Howard came in later, and unless he starts taking steroids, Ryan Howard is already on the back nine of his career.

There are some concerns out there about his health (namely back issues) and how that relates to a long-term contract.

Bobby Cox said if Ryan Howard is worth $25 million a year, Pujols is worth $50 million a year. Who's going to pay that? Not the Cardinals, that's for sure. Not the Yankees. Not the Mets. Not the Phillies. Not the Dodgers. Not the Angels.

The only possible choice is the Red Sox, and they'll have their pick of Adrian Gonzalez, Prince Fielder, and Pujols. With other superstar first basemen available well South of $50 million, Pujols will not receive that from the Red Sox either.

I would be willing to bet that all of those 1st baseman (who are all in the NL BTW), will remain with their current teams except for Gonzalez. Pujols will remain a Card.

Gonzalez will probably be traded before the season ends to a team you probably would not expect (someone like the Marlins)

That's the guy I wanted the Red Sox to get (and move Youkilis to 3B).

Even if Gonzalez were traded to a team like the Marlins, he would still become a free agent and be available after the 2011 season. The new team would be trading for the relatively cheap part of his contract, like the Devils did with Kovalchuk this year.

He won't receive anywhere near $50 million from anyone. The concerns I've read are from MLB execs who see his health issues and how many years a team would sign him for. The Cards would probably be the team who would sign Pujols for similar money and the most years...

One of the great things about watching MLB on Directv is the commercials from around the country. PIGGLY WIGGLY. That's all I have to say.

My fiance' almost fainted once when he saw a Padma Lakshmi commercial for Carl's Jr. I guess it was a west coast station, we don't have Carl's Jr. on the East coast.

I have to admit, the way she was eating her burger in her tight dress and heels, licking the juices that were dripping down, etc., was very eye catching!

I think they have them in the Midwest as well but I'm not sure. Taking the kids to Hollywood to show them the area next year . They have some great commercials that you wouldn't see without the MLB package. I miss the old C-band days. Check out this old commercial of Carlton Fiske from around 1976.

They are the same as Hardees here on the East coast.

No Hardees on the East Coast either...or Jack in the Box, or Wienerschnitzel, or El Polo Loco for that matter. Our cholesterol levels are much better than the LA area... ;)

But we do have Five Guys burgers and fries, one of the most decadent and delicious meals anywhere!

No Hardees anywhere in NE Ohio (that I know of). No Sonic either. We have recently had an influx of Five Guys popping up everywhere though and those Burgers are the bees knees!!

A year ago today, Cleveland was 8-13.

This year, they're 9-11.

HD, do you see any signs that the Indians can rebound from last year's rough season?
