Genie 2 question

Thinking of moving to Directv from Dish. Does the Genie 2 have picture in picture. If not, how do I get an HR54 that does?

No, because the Genie 2 server itself has no local A/V outputs (i.e., it's "headless") and can only be accessed by clients that are limited to only one satellite tuner and/or one stream from the server at a time.

You'll have to insist DIRECTV give you a Genie 1 when you call to sign-up, preferably an HR54 model.

While the G1 is less capable that the G2 in some ways, it's more capable and flexible than the G2 in others like with PIP here.

Genie 1's are any Genie other than the HS17 (aka Genie 2).
The Genie 1's have PIP, the HS17 does not.
