Download current software from 148 only??

Does anybody know if you can download the current Dish software from 148?
I have a 5000 that I use for dish aiming purposes and the software is old (it doesn’t have the newest from 11/9/04). I have a line running to a dish at 148 (see this thread for more info on that)

Since I only have one line from 110/119 to my 301, I really don’t want to run a temp. line to download the software. (that involves climbing on the roof and there is 4" of snow there)

So can it download software from 148 only? (or if not, maybe I could use the 61.5 dish)

You should be able to. Unless E* changed recently, software was available on the four main DBS slots. My best advice would be try it and let us know.

As I checked it at other forums, nothing changed there - ALL satellites still spooling software.

It should be on 148, I know when I hooked my 4900 that had been out of the stream for 3 years it pulled softare from 61.5 without a problem
