If a smart tv has enough hdmi ports (3 or more) who cares about tidying up around tv?
All I currently do is change the tv's video input (hdmi) and stream from Fire stick or Roku.
You’re good.

That is properly because you are a dude, I have seen many stories/posts here and elsewhere that women hate switching inputs. If a smart tv has enough hdmi ports (3 or more) who cares about tidying up around tv?

How much is it to add the Hopper Plus to your account a month? And can you buy it outright and add to your account? Its no secret I haven't been a fan of the Hopper Plus, but the last few beta software releases have given me hope. I just don't know when this software is going to be released to the customers.
With that said my wife and I simulated cutting the cord and removed satellite from the main tv we use and tried just streaming. It was horrible. We both love the Hopper 3 so much and when the Plus is fully stable (and its getting close!) it will be a great addition to the Hopper 3 ecosystem.
No idea. How much is it to add the Hopper Plus to your account and can you buy it outright and add to your account?
I have a Sony surround system that handles input switching. Anytime an input device is turned on the Sony switches to the mew input. The only exceptions are the Hopper3 and the TiVo which are on 24/7/365. Turning on the Blu-Ray player or waking up the FireStick automatically activates their input port. If dish would just blank the video output in standby instead of their stupid screen saver that would be one more device that auto switched (the wife does not use the TiVo anyway). That is properly because you are a dude, I have seen many stories/posts here and elsewhere that women hate switching inputs.
My wife was no exception, her demands were 1 remote for everything and easy, then I could have a 85” TV, so the only option was the 7 Series Roku TV and thanks to eArc I was able to have a real sound system ( hate soundbars).
She figured out how to switch between apps, just not inputs.
Wait a second here... you are married to my wife?I hear ya, Bruce. The wifey refuses to change inputs on tv. I unsuccessfully tried to show how easy it is to push few buttons on tv's original remote. She won't do it!. All She wants is Dish remote.
She goes to basement to watch the big tv. hollers at me. I go down there and change it back to Dish input. Then, everybody is happy.
Put your browser in in Incognito mode and you will see it. Looks like its not showing for people who it nows are already customers.Where exactly on the dish.com website is the 3 year price lock mentioned?
I have not found it, besides I'm 8 months into my current 2 year price lock that dropped my bill by a whopping $6 (but it's better than the last re-up on the price lock which was for a $10 increase).
Thanks, that worked.Put your browser in in Incognito mode and you will see it. Looks like its not showing for people who it nows are already customers.
I use this due to not having enough HDMIs on the TV. It swaps the HDMI signal automatically (no input changing necessary), based on a priority order on how the devices are connect to it.I hear ya, Bruce. The wifey refuses to change inputs on tv. Find me a company ANYWHERE that doesn't "plan to stick around" for three+ years. Just because the company WANTS to last that long, doesn't mean it will.So those naysayers who keep predicting Dish’s demise can see that Dish plans to stick around for at least three years. I plan to stick with Dish and my two Hopper3 and Joey3 since they work well. Of course I don’t plan to get a Hopper+ with all of its problems. I think Dish is alienating new and existing customers by releasing a product that is not ready for use.
I use one too, but it doesn't switch between inputs that are always on, such as Dish equipment and FireTV Stick.I use this due to not having enough HDMIs on the TV. It swaps the HDMI signal automatically (no input changing necessary), based on a priority order on how the devices are connect to it.
What if you have that as the base device? The Roku always used to be on, but I set that as the base device, then the laptop (if that was on), and then the Blu-Ray player was the holiest of devices and would override everyone else. And that worked. But I haven't tried it with the 722K (aka Dish dinosaur). Assumed if it managed with the Roku, it could have the Dish receiver.I use one too, but it doesn't switch between inputs that are always on, such as Dish equipment and FireTV Stick.
I used to have/need a switch, but now not any more since I moved, more rooms, so able to spread out stuff.I use this due to not having enough HDMIs on the TV. It swaps the HDMI signal automatically (no input changing necessary), based on a priority order on how the devices are connect to it.
