Other than making the HR34 and the C31 clients more stable I don't see what improvements D* could make to it. It already does 5 tuners at once; better than the Hopper.

I'd much rather have an 8 tuner HMC than voice commands.

Strangely, this lends credence to the rumor. DIRECTV seems to spend an inordinant amount of resources on developing "unique" technologies and when they do get around to implemented something that is of high interest, it either doesn't work very well or it is years late.

I agree. How much more can they do to make T.V. better? Lets just keep the monthly cost down and I'll be a happy camper.

Not sure how unique an iPhone app would be. Why should we pay $100 for a new remote when we all have $600 devices with speakers and microphones and Internet connections in our pockets.
