Dish seams to have made some type of change or upgrade to the Dish 625 software that is producing unacceptable results.
Here is description of the issue:
If you are watching and recording (to save for later access) and you press the pause or rewind button – you are now viewing delayed programming.
After your show / recording is over, it returns you to the DVR screen and not to the channel you were watching. This is new since the update.
Before you could record and watch a program, pushing the pause button would make the programming be delayed, but at the end of the program, the rest of the channel would still be “buffered” into memory to allow you to pause, rewind and record.
Let me try to make this as clear as possible:
-I am watching CSI on channel 6 at 9PM. I have a timer setup.
-I press pause, go get a snack and come back – I am now watching delayed programming.
-CSI ends at 10pm, and so does the recording.
--In the past, the DVR would continue to “buffer” the next program on channel 6 and allow me to keep watching, not missing any of the programs.
--Since the update, it now sends me to the DVR menu and will only let me watch live programming; I can no longer rewind or continue watching the same channel.
ALSO – I have requested many times for DISH to allow me to enter a * in the dial prefix so I can use my VoIP.

Hello, this message has been sent to support / customer service many times with an unacceptable reply.
To use my Vonage VoIP service, I have been advised to enter a *99 for the dial prefix, however every time I enter the * key on the remote, it takes me to the DVR Menu (as if I was pressing the gray DVR button)
I have been told over and over that it is not possible – that is unacceptable.
Why would this be possible with other receivers, but not the 625. This sounds like a software glitch and despite numerous phone calls and emails, this subject has had no resolution.
Please address this issue with your software development team and have them correct this for the next update. With out this dial prefix (*99) my DVR will not be able to dial into Dish Network.

Loosing this ability with the software upgrade is unacceptable. Dish needs to quickly fix this back to the way it was. I am missing a lot programming due to this.
