...I don't think you can take to many bats away from Penny tomorrow and still expect him to have a chance of winning though.

I'm not so much about the bats as I am the ball. If the Tigers want a chance at wining tomorrow they need to take the ball out of Perry's incompetent mitts. This guy couldn't pitch his way out of a wet paper bag.

Yeah, so far the Tigers have avoided the bad injury down the stretch. Guillen and Al Alburquerque are both on the DL right now but that hasn't bitten us yet.

I hate to see the Twins give away Thome to any contender for nothing. The Indians could use him which wouldn't bother me so much but I heard a rumor on ESPN about the Phillies. They are stacked enough already.

If both teams "claimed" Thome, he would be awarded (based on record) to Cleveland first.

In regards to aliva, leyland was not sure what he was going to do because i guess victor maritinez is banged up for catcher. They are waiting for September call ups for a third catcher as don Kelly is the "emergency catcher"

I think Availla will be in there till Martinez comes back, then Martinez will give him a break.

Did Thome get released ?

He is on waivers Minnesota Twins place Nick Blackburn on DL, recall Lester Oilveros - ESPN

The headline doesn't seem to be right there. The article talks about Thome though.

I also just saw something written by Buster Olney that said the White Sox put in a claim for him and they were behind Cleveland when he was placed on waivers. He said they were basically blocking Cleveland from getting him but they likely wont make a trade to actually bring him to Chicago.

I just heard on 97.1 the ticket that Inge will be catching tonight. I'm not sure if that's official or where they got it from though because Leyland hasn't released today's lineup yet.

Also, according to Buster Olney they are considering surgery for Hafner. If he needs it he will be out for the rest of the season.

That would be the smart move by Leyland if he hopes to win the division and be competitive in the playoffs.

I agree. Like I said earlier Kelly or Inge need to catch a few games now. Avila has caught 16 straight and he is hitting great but we can't let him get to banged up.

Well.... he has caught, maybe he wants to do whatever he can to help out.

Hopefully they will DH him for a few days, I would hate to see him lose his Great swing he's got going at the moment.

The radio guys should have submitted the starting lineup. Anyway, I thought the official lineup was handed to the home-plate ump shortly before the game?

You're right. That isn't really the official lineup. Leyland releases his lineup a few hours before every game through the official Tigers twitter account and that's where I got that. Sometimes, like last night, there are last minute changes that go on the official lineup. Yesterday Martinez was on the first lineup but he had back spasms just before the game so he wasn't in the official lineup

Another walk-off come from behind homer to win it in dramatic fashion for the "never say die", Cleveland Indians!!!!

Wow!!!! I nearly wrecked the car celebrating on my drive home while listening to the radio guys call the home run shot by Choo. Wow!!

Part two of the double header in 2.5 hrs.

They just don't want to go away. Tigers just need to keep winning or splitting series. Its our division to lose now. I think the only thing that can stop us is a losing streak or 2.

I think the White Sox lose both games to the Angels in their short 2 game series. They have Buehrle vs Santana tonight and Stewart vs Weaver tomorrow. Stewart is only 1-2 with a 3.74 ERA.

With an Indian win tonight and a Tiger loss, the Tribe will be 4 games back. Crossing fingers. Don't forget we play eachother 6 times yet and there's still a little over a month left of regular season play. Should be a wild ride. Hold on folks!
