2011 AL Central Thread

I'm not rubbing it in on purpose. I'm just excited about our possibilities of making it into the playoffs this year. I think we will be a tough team to knock out if we get in.

I know...I just feel bad the because the Indians fans deserve a champion - it's been a long time. Of course, I can't believe it's been 27-years since we last won the Series. We're overdue!!!

Today's lineup

1. Jackson CF
2. Boesch RF
3. Young LF
4. Cabrera 1st
5. Martinez DH
6. Avila catching again
7. Peralta SS
8. Betemit 3rd
9. Santiago 2nd

In my opinion this is the best lineup they can put on the field. I like Betemit over Inge at 3rd, Santiago over Rayburn at 2nd, and Boesch over Mags in right.

Other news, Cabrera is going back to Detroit after the game tonight and won't be available for tomorrow's game. He is leaving for the induced birth of his child tomorrow.

Absolutely...I like it! We're going for a Win this evening.

I agree with everything you said here.

Was going to post about the same thing, now I don't have too.

However, I prefer Inge at 3b with Betimit at the bat .... can we do that ?
Santiago over Raburn, this is a no brainer.

I love how we're doing the little things lately that are necessary to win games like bunting to advance the runners to 2nd and 3rd with no outs, and driving in the running from 3rd base with less than two outs. So far, Max looks pretty good this evening.

Also, I just realized tomorrow is an afternoon game - 1:10 pm starting time.

Get away day. :)

Then it's on to Minnesota !

Till the call that ended it, you ALWAYS get the call at 2B on a force play as long as your close, till NOW.

Tigers lose on a force play NOT called.

Tigers lose because Inge didn't make the play 99% of 3rd baseman would have made at 1st base. The runner at 2nd was clearly safe and the ump made the right call. I don't know what Inge was thinking...you throw the runner out at 1st. Likewise, we should haven't been in that postion if Inge hadn't bobbled a ball hit to him earlier in the inning - should have been a double-play.

And to think he came in for Defensive purposes ....

also, 99 % of the time you would get the call at second, actually more like 990 out of 1000.

However, like you said, everyone expected him to go to 1st, thus Santiago not being there in time.

Hahahaha yea. Welcome back Brandon EFFING Inge.

I could easily overlook him not getting the double-play, but it was an easy/routine throw to 1st base to get the 3rd out. Why would he bother to throw the 2nd base? Heck, it was a more difficult play...the runner was almost on the bag...and it was the 3rd out for crying out loud. Just a boneheaded play.

Yeah tough loss for Below who didn't deserve that. We might have lost later anyways I guess. The good news is the Indians lost and the Sox are down 3-0 in the 3rd against Weaver. They should have a tough time coming back on him.
