I've been out of the loop with working but damn the Twins have fallen...werent they like 5 or 6 games out?
Now they're 12 out
Now they're 12 out

I don't think we'll have a happy ending this year, Ice.
One happy note: I've got tickets to Friday night at Target vs the Yankees.
Young was good last year, but he's been injured and disappointing this year. With Revere coming on well, he was extraneous.
I think so. As much as we've all enjoyed and appreciated Magglio I think the writing is on the wall. His best years are behind him and age and injuries are catching up. Good move by Dombrowski....Could it be the end of Ordonez's time in Detroit?

I agree. I appreciate what he has done here but he just isn't producing anymore. They have Young batting 3rd today and Magglio batting 7th with Boesch out of the lineup again. I think they are waiting for Boesch to be full time again instead of day-to-day and then we will see Magglio designated for assignment.
From the official Detroit Tigers Twitter account, "Tigers acquire OF Delmon Young from Twins in exchange for LHP Cole Nelson and PTBNL."

Could it be the end of Ordonez's time in Detroit? I know Young hasn't had his best season so far this year but but he hit .298 with 112 RBI last season. I think he could help us get into the playoffs this year and I really like the move by Dombrowski.
I think Ordonez is in a 1 year contract anyways.
Who has a contract up for renewal? Verlander is a steal at 12.8M (we should pay him more)...Guillen is overpriced at 13M...and I think Inge still has another on his contract for something like 5.5M per year. I'm pretty sure this is Guillen's final year of a 4-year contract so I expect the Tigers to part ways with him...Magglio too unless he is willing to cut his 10M salary in half. To be honest, I would like to see him Magglio stick around for two more years at 5M per. At age 38 (next year) I don't see Magglio as having too many options. Additionally, I think we're going to have to pay folks like Boesch and Scherzer something extra.
