Maybe the NFL should adopt the Rouge like the CFL. I wonder how many NFL teams would want to surrender a single point for a touchback then?

How's that ?
The KO team gets a point if the recving team doesn't bring it out ?

Of course that would defeat the purpose the NFL made in moving the KO up.
They want to take it out of the game.

Dang! 21-7 with 11 seconds left in the first quarter.

The No Fun League needs to ban the Lambeau Leap. As someone with no personality or sense of humor,I see nothing but lawsuits if someone, player or fan, should get injured from said leap. Actually,I'm just kidding, but I'm surprised some lawyer hasn't jumped all over this warning about the potential health risks,& also, everybody knows that fun & Roger Goodell don't mi:mad:pretty much an oxymoron).

This game is a great start to the 2011 NFL season. One punt return & one kick off return.

Yeah, the return games are exactly the opposite that the haters wanted to see. A bunch more touchbacks, excellent kickoff returns and a record breaking TD, and a game with a ton of points scored despite offenses starting further back on average (in theory).

Game really wasn't nearly as close as the score indicates for the most part, Green Bay crushed the Saints, especially on clutch plays.

How can you say that when the Saints were at the door of a TD on the 1 yard line on the finally play?

The Pack made 1 more big play than the Saints. And that was enough.

Can you BELIEVE the last play they ran, a RUN ????
Take the ball out of your best players hands and run up the middle, yikes !

Actually, if Ingram would have cut to the pilon instead of leap into a mound of humanity, where the concentration of defenders were....he scores easily.

The Pack made many, many, more big plays than the Saints. They shut them down multiple times in the red zone (20% red zone efficiency for the Saints), they absolutely destroyed the Saints on the 4th down attempt and the final goal line stand. In the end Petyon took the ball out of the hands of his best player and handed it to a rookie, sending him into a woodchipper of a defensive front that had mauled their offensive line all night. The only reason it was even close was a defensive shell at the end and Drew Brees showing that since joining New Orleans he's been probably the best QB in the league.

Their final touchdown drive was puzzling, the Saints were playing the clock like they were down 2 and could just kick a field goal. There were multiple plays where they huddled and used almost 30 seconds of the play clock. It was a 3:15 76 yard drive, by comparison their final drive that ended in the miserable goal line stand was 80 yards in 68 seconds.

And with everything that they dominated the Saints on....the Saints were within seconds of tying the game.

So are you just being argumentative then (big surprise)? You just reworded what you objected to originally, which was:

Game really wasn't nearly as close as the score indicates for the most part, Green Bay crushed the Saints, especially on clutch plays.

Notable: Packers-Saints 17.2 rating was the 2nd highest regular season primetime game in 13 years! The NBA couldn't sniff those regular season ratings! Welcome back NFL!!!!!!!!!!

It was said sarcastically, if I could do the 'raised eyebrow' thing from my cell phone, I would have. By the way, did you look at the stats... Some domination...the are almost completely even....
