Notable: Packers-Saints 17.2 rating was the 2nd highest regular season primetime game in 13 years! The NBA couldn't sniff those regular season ratings! Welcome back NFL!!!!!!!!!!

They were great numbers, but if you do not think the work stoppage since March had anything to do with it....well....LOL...what can I say...?

Worst to First

Every year for the past 8 years, there has been a team to finish in first place after previously finishing last the year before. Who's it going to be this year?

Cleveland's schedule looks very winnable through Thanksgiving:

Week 1 home against a potential dumpster fire team in the Bengals
Week 2- at Indy with no Manning)
Week 3- home against a Miami team with QB and RB issues
Week 4- home against a schizo Tennessee team
Week 5- BYE
Week 6- at an Oakland team sans Nnamdi, Zach Miller, and Gradkowski
Week 7- home against a Seattle team that struggles on the road
Week 8- at San Fran with the unimpressive Alex Smith
Week 9- at Houston in a tossup game
Week 10- home against St. Louis in another game that could go either way
Week 11- Home to a Jacksonville team that suddenly has QB woes

Holy cow! That schedule is so soft, it needs frosting!

So when the NBA comes back, are we going to have ratings through the roof because everyone will miss basketball? Doubt it.

LOL the opening of the NFL regular season had good ratings because people didn't get to see one preseason game that was missed...the Hall of Fame game five weeks ago. Right.

I dont know...maybe they will and maybe they wont. But again, you are crazy not to think the ratings weren't very high due to the lockout.

It was said sarcastically, if I could do the 'raised eyebrow' thing from my cell phone, I would have. By the way, did you look at the stats... Some domination...the are almost completely even....

What about the stats disproves what I said? Again, are you just replying to be contrary?

Next you'll say the ratings 'weren't very high' for the 2nd most watched kickoff game in more than a decade... oh no wait, you've said that now too.

I see you are in mid-season form when it comes to putting words in people's mouths....LOL!

I stated the game was close, contrary to how many more big plays Green Bay had over the Saints because the proof is there.... it took a goal line defensive stance with zero time left for the Pack to win.

AND, I stated the the stats were "great" but I stated that the lockout had something to do with those high ratings.

Or would you like me to cut-and-paste my exact quotes?

Wow Bill,
Chefs and the Titans making the playoffs ?

I agree with your AFC posts, but I expect that Houston will win the South, although Hasselbeck could surprise some with the Titans.

I'm thinking the Ravens will make the playoffs as a WC over the Chefs.

I'm thinking (hoping) the Lions make the playoffs as a WC, don't see them winning the division with the Pack there.

It will be interesting to see if the Cards or the Rams can win this division, both are capable.

Steeler's Troy Polamalu signed a 4 year deal with the team .... said he wasn't panning on going anywhere, but is glad to have it done with.

Polamalu is ONLY 30, I thought he was much older than that, he's been around for quite awhile now !

I've been high on the Chiefs for two years now.....they're a team going in the right direction. The Ravens, as always, will be dangerous but they play in a tough division and I think their D is getting a little long in the tooth.

The Titans and Rams win their divisions by default. I'm not as high on the Texans as other are and IMO, the young Rams are the best of a very sorry NFC West lot.

I'm still thinking the Rams and Cards is a toss up to win thier division.

Wonder what Baltimore's D will be like when Ray Lewis finally retires, he's 36 this year ....
Who's the next Miami LB they find at the right time ?
