LOVE the Ochocinco move. He will be motivated by his friendship with Belichick, and like Moss before him, he always wanted to play with Brady. We all know how that worked out in '07.

As far as Haynesworth goes, there's no sugar coating it: he's a bad human being (and I dont mean that as a compliment)! I was lukewarm with the idea of him playing alongside Wilfork and Warren, but now with Warren released.... I HATE IT!! I've heard people compare this with the Pats releasing Lawyer Milloy after they got Rodney Harrison. Fans and players alike were pissed after Lawyer's release, but then the Pats won back-to-back Super Bowls and Rodney was a huge part of that because of his leadership. Unfortunately, I don't see Haynesworth being a leader of any kind.

See, this is why Bill is amongst the coolest. He doesn't try to find a reason to be positive just because his team made a move...he tells you exactly how he feels, whether it benefits his team or not. :)

Personally I don't completely agree, I think if anyone can get Haynesworth to focus it's Belicheck, but this time we can really leave it with...We gonna find out!

Osi off the block -

The New York Giants informed Osi Umenyiora's agent, Tony Agnone, on Wednesday that he no longer has permission to seek trades with other teams, according to a league source.

No clubs were willing to give up a first-round draft choice, but sources said several clubs had interest if compensation was a second-day draft pick (rounds 2 or 3).

Umenyiora, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, has been upset with his contract, which is scheduled to pay him $7.1 million in base salary during the next two seasons combined.
NFL.com news: Giants: Window closed for DE Umenyiora to seek trade

I would have taken a player AND a 2nd rounder. This guy is gonna make the locker room miserable while he is there. Paul Brown-ish type move that will hurt the team in what they can get instead of "principle" move.

I would love for the Tatupu legacy to be rekindled in Foxboro (for those that don't know, that's Lofa's dad the late, great Mosi Tatupu on my avatar)!

Mosi's name was once spoken in an episode of The Simpson's. If I remember correctly Homer was King Kong and the natives used Mosi Tatupu during a scene the king was pointing out Marge and Burns.

The only thing Tebow has over Orton is popularity and fan appeal.

At least Tebow has one high profile fan ;)

Opinion on Tim Tebow's NFL future is clearly divided, but count LeBron James among the many fans of the former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback.

James took to Twitter on Wednesday, supporting Tebow and proclaiming, "Tim Tebow will succeed in the NFL. He's a hard worker, a student of the game, a natural born leader and most of all a WINNER! It takes time and he'll be nice."

James' tweets were in response to comments from ESPN NFL analyst Merril Hoge's criticism of Tebow earlier Wednesday on Twitter and "SportsCenter."

Greg Cosell on Sirius NFL this morning.....

-"Interesting how teams will draft unproven pass rushers in top 10 (V. Miller), yet proven pass rusher like Osi won't bring 1st rd pick."

-Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali cashed in on a career year in 2010 by reaching a five-year, $60 million deal that includes $35 million in guarantees, a source told ESPN.com senior NFL writer John Clayton on Wednesday.

"He is awful as far as accuracy goes and what's kind of even more disturbing, he's probably worse moving and running around with the football and throwing than he is from the pocket," Hoge said. "Can you get better there? A little bit. If everything is perfect, the pocket, your feet are good, all your fundamentals come into place, the coverage is what you want it, you can be successful. But that doesn't happen at the National Football League. Rarely does that happen."

What, can't a guy have an opinion?? What are the 'personal attacks'??

It's the age, someone like Clay Mathews who is 25 would certainly fetch a 1st rounder. But Osi is going to be 30 this year. Von Miller is
8 years younger.

Merril Hoge thinks Orton deserves job over Tebow - CBSSports.com

"rare-rare" or "raw-raw"college speeches? So why is that a bad thing? Why does he feel the need to mock him?

I don't know...it is kinda harsh (the twitter forum doesn't help), but I've heard a lot worse about a lot of players. It wasn't that long ago that Jay Cutler sat out the second half of a playoff game because of an injury, and his manhood was being challenged by just about everyone under the sun,

Tebow is a big boy...he can take it. Criticism is part of being a professional athlete. It goes with the territory...and the paycheck.

i agree he can handle it. and yes i still continue to question cutlers manhood:eek::p

I agree. I have become of fan of Tebow since last year and I have never really licked Hodge myself, but I do not see any personal attack. And further more, all indicaiton from what I have heard and read is, not only is he clearly getting beat out by Orton, but he is barely beating out Brady Quinn. In fact from what has been said, there are veteran players in the locker room forming a stink that Orton SHOULD be the starting QB.

This is the HUGE mistake of draft Tebow in the 1st round. You EXPECT a 1st rounder to contribute IMMEDIATELY, especially if he is paid 1st round money. He was expected to be a 3rd or a 4th round pick. IF Denver would have drafted him there, no one would have issues with him holding a clipperboard for a couple of years.

Hell, Aaron Rogers held a clipboard for 4 seasons, if I remember correctly. Now I am NOT saying he is or will be as good as Rogers, what I am saying is there is NOTHING wrong with not throwing him to the wolves if he is not ready.

i've never liked hoge. he thinks he's the know it all of football and the god of running backs:rolleyes:
i pay no attention to what he has to say. and in this case he's getting a little too personal with tebow. i hope one day he eats his words.

But, he has the right to his opinion just as we have the right to disagree with him. The quote I posted on the prior page lists some technical/mechanical reasons why Hoge feels the way he does. It's not like he doesn't think Tebow will be good because he cries too much... ;)

Until Tebow gets his chance to be a full-time starter to prove his NFL worth, these types of criticisms will be more and more prevalent. For the record, I hope Tebow gets the chance to make Hoge eat his words...

Maybe it's me, Hoge just comes off as a douche bag no matter what he says.

I did like Tebow's respone.
@TimTebow Hey Merril...... 'ppreciate that

cosmo and slasa make valid points that i agree with but i still feel the same way as you do about Hoge lol...
can't stand the guy

I agree cosmo, I was never much of a Tebow fan in college (didn't help that he had a hand in destroying my Buckeyes in the championship game!), but his enthusiasm has rubbed off on me to the point where I am rooting for him to do well in the NFL.

That said, what Hoge or any other commentator says is irrelevant. If Tebow is good enough, he will succeed. If not, he won't. That's the beauty of sports. Opinion turns to fact, one way or the other.
