Great job by Tom in recruiting him. If I was in that situation, I would chose Tom over Al Davis too!

Piece of $&!7 Al Davis....!

I am a little disappointed in the fact that Zach stated he felt wanted in Seattle....ALL indications show the Raiders DID want him. From the what I read, it was familiarity with Cables' offense and close relationship with Robert Gallery.

Little interesting that Miller spoke so highly of Gallery, a much-maligned underperforming player in Oakland depised by most Raider fans.

More comments from Zach Miller, he basically waited around forever for the Raiders to get a deal done and instead they worked on other players. Cable reached out to him, pushed the Seahawks to get him and he ultimately accepted after a great visit.

I stand corrected. Once again, the contractual sins of the past has comeback to haunt the Raiders fans.

Overnight News in the NFL:

-After 11 NFL seasons and two Pro Bowls, former Rams and Ravens QB Marc Bulger said he is retiring.

-The Eagles have become the Miami Heat of football it seems. According to Schefter, It's to the point now where the remaining free agents want to go to Philadelphia -- and are willing to take less to do it.

-Broncos land former Patriots DE Ty Warren with a 2-year, $10 million deal that includes $2.5 million guaranteed.

-Jets LB David Harris signed a 4-year, $36 million deal that includes $29.5 million guaranteed.

-Rams reached agreement with former Falcons running back Jerious Norwood on a one-year deal.

-Browns reached agreement with first-round pick Phil Taylor.

-Free agents still unsigned: Braylon Edwards, Lofa Tatupu and a whole slew of Running Backs approaching the 30 year old mark.

-Here's the Zach Miller contract with the Seahawks: 5 years, $34 million, including $17 million guaranteed.

-Vikings cut OT Bryant McKinnie.

Raiders added some much needed depth and veteran leadership to the OL with a few signing yesterday. Center Samson Satele, tackle Stephon Heyer, guard Justin Smiley and tackle Seth Wand.

Rookie Stefen Wisniewski is expected to start at center, but Satele gives the team options. Oakland needed more alternatives at tackle, where Heyer and Wand will provide depth.

This all according to Greg Rosenthal from Pro Footbal Talk. NOW, they need to work on FA TE Kevin Boss and sign his arse up as soon as possible!!!!:mad::mad:

I would love for the Tatupu legacy to be rekindled in Foxboro (for those that don't know, that's Lofa's dad the late, great Mosi Tatupu on my avatar)!

-Miami fans booed Chad Henne in practice yesterday and chanted "Kyle Orton". Poor Chadwick. :(

-It could be worse Miami. With Peyton Manning on PUP, the four QBs taking snaps in Colts camp are Dan Orlovsky, Nate Davis, Mike Hartline and Curtis Painter. Yikes!
i have no issue with the fans doing this. the morons running this franchise don't seem to get it so maybe they need to hear it from the fans mouths! boo them all year........

as far as manning goes, he'll be fine.might take him 2 or 3 games to get into rhythm. don't think its a huge issue

Notable stat on NFL competitiveness: in each of the past 15 seasons, at least 5 teams made playoffs after missing the year before.

Welcome back football! I love you!

Osi a Patriot? Me likey!

Either way, keep him away from Baltimore!

He wants big time money. The Pats have the picks to pull the trade off, no doubt there, but the money he is looking for is in the 4, 5 or 6 year range in the $65-$75 million range. The money in the $10-$13 million a year for a couple of years would be worth it cause he is beast, but for 5 or 6 years...way too much for a soon to be 31 year old. Seymour was MUCH better and a year or 2 younger and they did not wanna give him that much money.

-Texans reach 2 year deal with one of the best unknown commodity's in the NFL; FB Lawrence Vickers. Expect Arian Foster to run for 5,000 yards this season.

Moving along, I am gonna assume Zack Miller's visit to Seattle was a ploy to get more money and to show the Grim Reaper that he DOES have other alternatives.... so the Raiders should do right and give the man his contract and his much deserved money.

IF nothing happens on the Raiders said by EOB today, I am gonna start getting scared because the Seahawks owners has plenty of $$$$$.

Ok, I change my mind after re-reading my post.... I am scared NOW.

EDIT: With the restructing of Kamerion Wimbley's contract, their SHOULD BE(you never with today's creative accounting practices done by all professional sports teams) enough to pay Zack fair market value.

I'm not sure if you can classify Wimbley's contract signing as a 'restructuring'.:

On Monday, the Raiders re-signed outside linebacker Kamerion Wimbley by giving him a five-year, $48 million deal that guarantees him $29 million. It is one thing to pay for Asomugha and set the market for dominant cornerbacks; Al Davis probably overpaid and helped create massive inflation for elite cornerbacks for years to come, but at least he was signing a truly excellent player. Wimbley is a pretty good pass-rusher who had 11 sacks as a rookie in 2006. He's averaged just more than six sacks per season since, and although he had nine last year, three of them came in a meaningless Week 17 game against the already playoff-bound Chiefs.

Stare at that $29 million figure, because it's truly grotesque. It's nearly 50 percent more than the guaranteed money James Harrison got from the Steelers on his five-year deal after he won Defensive Player of the Year with a 16-sack campaign. It's more than Asomugha was guaranteed in either his contract with the Raiders or with the Eagles. It is the sort of deal only Al Davis would make.

Bill, what do you think of the Ochocinco and Haynesworth acquisitions?

LOVE the Ochocinco move. He will be motivated by his friendship with Belichick, and like Moss before him, he always wanted to play with Brady. We all know how that worked out in '07.

As far as Haynesworth goes, there's no sugar coating it: he's a bad human being (and I dont mean that as a compliment)! I was lukewarm with the idea of him playing alongside Wilfork and Warren, but now with Warren released.... I HATE IT!! I've heard people compare this with the Pats releasing Lawyer Milloy after they got Rodney Harrison. Fans and players alike were pissed after Lawyer's release, but then the Pats won back-to-back Super Bowls and Rodney was a huge part of that because of his leadership. Unfortunately, I don't see Haynesworth being a leader of any kind.

Osi off the block -

The New York Giants informed Osi Umenyiora's agent, Tony Agnone, on Wednesday that he no longer has permission to seek trades with other teams, according to a league source.

No clubs were willing to give up a first-round draft choice, but sources said several clubs had interest if compensation was a second-day draft pick (rounds 2 or 3).

Umenyiora, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, has been upset with his contract, which is scheduled to pay him $7.1 million in base salary during the next two seasons combined.
