2009 MLB Playoffs

Yes. That's what I meant.
Good job! :up

I did not post, but I said I would not be surprised if the Angels, Roxs, and Dodgers won (I thought the Cards would take the Dodgers however). I did know the Yanks would win. I guess if I did make an official prediction post I would have been 2 for 4.

I would have picked:

Angels
Rockies
Cardinals
Yankees

I would have done a better job picking the AL, which I do not follow, than the NL, which I do follow. :D

One thing I would have never picked was each series finishing in 4 or fewer games. I thought at least one series would go 5, or more series would have gone at least 4.

Glad to hear all of the "experts" are now picking the Phils over the Dodgers. This is good news for the Dodgers. :p

who is an "expert" anyways, they all get the mute button from me

WIP 610 am philly said Gene Simmons told the crowd the Phillies beat the Rockies at the KISS concert at Wachovia Center tonight, sweeeeeeeet!

Well my Phillies did it again. All I request now is some way to save me from my own stupidity. For the second straight night my DVR shut off in the ninth inning and I missed Werth's tie breaker and the bottom of the ninth. When am I going to learn to record the next show because I should know the games always run past the time allocated by dish. Oh well I did see it live this time. I don't remember watching so many exciting finishes. Three of the four series were real nail biters. I don't care who you may have been pulling for, these games were just plain fun to watch. Of course I liked the Phillies series best. Instead of being called the LDS it looked to me like the LSD. I am still afraid of the Dodgers because I feel like Dodger King, I don't like being the favorite. Think I will just sit back and enjoy all the games. Thank God I am retired and have a wonderful wife who doesn't mind if I hog the flat screen and the DVR.

DirecTV now has a dummy proof feature when DVRing sporting events. When a game is selected to record, a pop-up comes up to warn you the event may not end at the exact allotted time and gives you the option to set an extension. Brilliant idea!

What if you are recording it and are not there though?

Thanks HD. Problem is I have Dish and I think I'll keep it and just try to learn from my mistakes. Am I the only one who thought Pres. Obama was pitching for the Rockies? Jimenez had a few pounds on Obama but sure did look like him, at least to me. I even thought I spied a couple Secret Service agents in the first row (the guys in suits and top coats). Please no political replies, I just have a vivid imagination. You know I wish the TV people would stop with the blown save rhetoric. We have heard enough negatives. Why don't they just say the batters rose to the occasion and did what they are paid to do. Let's stop pointing out failures and honor positive achievements.

Hmmm. I like this idea. So many ways you can go with it, too.

Let's stop recording errors in the field too...let's give the batters credit for putting proper spin on the ball, and give out more hits!

Missed field goals? No way. Let's give three points to the wind instead!

Incompletions by a QB? Uh uh. Let's say seven passes completed to receivers, one completed to a DB, and four completed to the ground. It sounds much better that way...

Goals against are a save by the net...

Give a basketball player one point just for getting the shot off, two if it goes in...

No lines in tennis, every ball is in...

A pitcher throws 14 pitches in an inning, four are balls, nine are strikes, and one is hit over the fence for a homerun. When you do a ball/strike count for the pitcher, what the heck, say he threw four balls and ten strikes, even though one of the strikes went 420 feet. Oh wait, they already do that...;)

Thanks Sandra, I needed someone to prove my point about negative people. I only pointed out the fact that someone had to do a positive thing or else there would not have been a negative. Of course there was a blown save, but there also had to be someone to take advantage of that bad pitch. You were the one person I thought would jump on this subject and I was right so I am charging you with a blown reply. By the way I do like to agitate every now and then and you took the bait.

Just having some fun. Just don't charge me with a blown...anything. OK? ;) :D

What is even worse is that he is a Giants fan from SoCal. That is like having a BoSox fan from NY. That is sacrilegious.

I was born in SF and went to college there, so that's where my loyalty comes from. That and going there for vacation as a kid many times during the summer. Yeah, I'm outnumbered here. My former college roommate is from Sonoma County, north of SF, but he and his dad are Doyers fans. Why? Because they are from LA, he (the roommate) was born there.

Anyways, I'm goin' with the Angels though. Glad they beat the Red Sox finally, they are a fun team to watch. A group of my brothers' friends here are Halo fans, so they sucked us in on the AL side.
