When you are counting to 10 you don't start at 0 do you?

The first year was 1, which at the end of that first year was then year 2. The years start at the beginning not the end of a year.

That depends, are you talking about years COMPLETED or years that your IN ?

I do agree that when your talking stuff like this, for example the 80's is 1980 thru 1989
 
Money lets a team sniff the postseason every year, but doesn't necessarily buy WS championships. Either way, Enjoy being champs Yankees fans!

True for the Yankees and RedSox but not for the Mets. They spend the 2nd or 3rd most every year and don't get into the playoffs very often.
