2009 MLB Playoffs

That door opening on the outfield wall in the bottom of the 9th by Torii was Nick's ghost coming on the field to be with the team to get ready to celebrate!!!!:angel::angel::angel::angel:

I doubted the Angels but they got it done. Baseball is so unpredictable.

I wonder if Paplebon pitches for the Sox again. I've heard rumors that they are considering dumping him. Now they've got a good reason to.

Orsillo has to be the dullest and worst play by play person I have ever heard do a nationally televised baseball post season game.

He is so monotone.

Every expert predicted the Cards to win, some even said they would sweep the Dodgers.

Most experts picked to Sox to win

Now lets see if they are correct in picking the Phils over the Roxs as well.

I like Orsillo. You want dull listen to Brian Anderson who's calling the Phillies-Rockies series. With a 10 PM start see if you can listen to that guy and not fall asleep.

New question: who does KCK want in the ALCS?

Home-field advantage or a team they have owned under Scioscia?

No matter. This is the post season where all the hexes end.

Paps got scored upon in the post season.

The Angels sweep the Red Sox in the ALDS.

The Yankees will end their hex against the Angels in the post season this year.

...Paps got scored upon in the post season....

From: the Satelliteguys archives

...I still don't see Papelbon as a closer, in spite of his modest success to date in that role...

And Papelbon's save statistics are deceiving as well. Has he had his first one-two-three inning yet this year? He is a blown save waiting to happen. A closer without an "out pitch"....

Papelbon came in and was only able to wriggle out of it because Jacoby Ellsbury made a highlight film diving catch and somehow the dumb baserunner on third didn't even score on that flyball out.

... I bet he has let more inherited runners score than the average closer has this year. He gets some saves by coming in with a three run lead and two men on and letting the two inherited runners score. He will become a starter very soon. In fact, if Billy Wagner had agreed to allow his option to be picked up, Papelbon would have been a certainty to be converted into a starter next spring, and if they can buy a proven closer in the off-season, or if Bard comes into his own this month and in the playoffs, that will still happen.

He can always pursue his second career choice.
