2008 MLB Playoffs

The reason I made the 'Colosally Creamed' reference is because it's one more instance of a 'star pitcher looks so great, then has a bad playoff game.'

Remember Chien Mien-Wang last year?

Well...As far as the Brewers...I think they should have been out of that inning long before the grand slam. He had at least two good pitches on a 2 strike count. And also, you should almost always get the pitcher out. Kind of reminds me of Last nights game...that should have been 0 runs by the phillies...if Cameron would have cought that ball. Just not performing well in the playoffs. As I said before, I am happy to see them there. Was hoping for better results, but they are just being overmatched.

The Cubs imploding against a team from the N.L. Mild, Mild West with that idiot Me Me...

Cubs fans are loyal; Dodger fans are bandwagoners...

WHERE'S THE FREAKING JUSTICE?!

I look at those Cubs fans as they pan the crowd, and I feel so bad.

Why you ask?

Because I've been there.

The Cubs are looking absolutely AWFUL against the supposedly weakest playoff team from a bad division.

Let's just say it: God either hates the Cubs or the Dodgers made a pact with Satan.

Does anyone know when FrankTV starts?

For the love of GAWD, TBS.......ENOUGH ALREADY!!!! I'm ready to stick pins in my eyes!!:mad:

Will either or both NLDS series go beyond Saturday?

I think the Phillies will sweep, but the Cubs will get a win out in LA.

The NLDS the last couple of years have been terrible!

Bill, your Red Sox went through the situation of losing games 1 and 2 not once, but twice (1999, 2003).

You lived through '0-2 deficit turns into 3-2 comeback' twice.

How does this possble situation compare with the ones you went though?

I don't really mind it. What was aggravating me is all the crowd shots TBS showed. We get it, Cubs haven't won in 100 yrs. and there sad. Enough. What do expect the crowd to do? The Wave? They were getting beat 6-0, 8-1 and then 10-1.

Again, this reminds me of the Mets on Sunday. Same thing but the SNY crew wasn't that bad.

In both those years, the Red Sox lost the first two games on the road, and were able to come home and regroup.

In the Cubs instance they lost the first two at home, IMO, that's a tougher task to overcome.

Will the Cub's that played great thruout the regular year , PLEASE STAND UP

I would hate to see the Cub's play so well all year and then not show up when they need to.

btw, what is Manny up to in the series, I have not been able to really see either game.

Jimbo

KCK,

your thoughts on yesterday's games?

Thanks for asking!

It is quite amazing to me (not shocking) that the hottest team around right now is Joe Torre's Dodgers. Amazing because they played so poorly all season long (win 8...lose 8...win 6...lose 6) and now they are playing with almost the wreckless abandon of a beer keg weekend pick-up team. This is Joe Torre at his managerial best. I am no fan of the organization at all, but it is actually fun to watch the Dodgers play. I would not want to have to face them this post season.

My heart goes out to Mark DeRosa whom I have admired since he was a kid with the Braves. He is in many ways the heart and soul of this Cubs team and I know his failure to make the DP last night is eating him alive. The Dodgers will clinch here in L.A. this weekend.

CC's value in the free agent market looks just like a bunch of Wamu stock right now. He just does not do well in the post season. I think the Phillies are too good right now to let the Brew Crew overtake them. Lidge improved greatly yesterday and he got a huge confidence booster.

I was at work and could not see the Sox/Rays game so I am not really qualified to comment on it. However, I will be watching that race closely this weekend. I am rooting for the Rays. How can anyone not?

This is shaping up to be a fun post season! ;)

I guess MIL went to the well once too often. C.C. Sabathia looked gassed yesterday. Can't see them pulling this series out. I like the Phillie's chances right now. In the post season, the bullpen and defense matter a whole lot more, and Philly has the best bullpen in the game.

Who's the biggest NFL disappointment so far this season?

Best World Series of all-time?
