What is wrong with the Cleveland Indians?

Looks like Grady Sizemore will be back in the lineup soon. His elbow will need some arthroscopic surgery but it should be minor and in the off season...if he can try and play thru this for the rest of the season. Here's hopin'.

What IS wrong with the Indians? They let those scumbag Cubs come back and win in extra innings yesterday.

I was surprised by that comeback after the way they played early in the game.

Tough weekend fellas. This bullpen is horrid! :(

I suppose all of the blame will fall on Woody since he officially blew 2 games against the Cubbies, but the demise of the bullpen is a culmination of things......

1. Injuries. The loss of several key arms puts more pressure and expectations on the available replacements in the pen. Players who are normally not asked of much are now depended on. Physical strain + Psychological Stress = Disaster.

2. Inconsistency. Baseball is a rhythm game. A game of streaks. In order for pitchers to be consistent, they need to know their roles and be able to log in regular hours without over or under using. This has been Kerry Wood's issue. Typically, our setup guys blow the lead before the game even gets to our closer. Woody gets used so few and far between, that when he does come in, he's rusty. I truly believe that if he was used more regularly, he would be more effective.

Bottom line though is that this is a no-excuse game. Regardless of the situation, a man of Kerry Wood's stature needs to be able to perform when called upon and lately that hasn't been the case.

As for the Indians, raise the White Flag of surrender. Stick a fork in us. The fat lady has sung. We are officially done!

PS, when does Browns season start?! Damn, this is gonna be a LONG summer! :(

Wedgie on the Block!

This may not come as a surprise, but Indians Skipper Eric Wedge may not make it to the next roadie to Pittsburgh.

Rumors are running rampant here in Cleveland.....

Adding to the speculation is none other than team owner Larry Dolan, who normally keeps quiet. When recently asked about Wedge’s future, he made the curious quote of
“I’ll talk to you later.”
When asked what that meant in regards to a change, Dolan said,
“I just don’t want to lie to you.”
