ViP 722 price

A friend of mine, who is upgrading his DVR called in to ask about the 722; he was initially quoted for around $100-$150, but he said he'd install it, so they quoted him $75, but managed to work them down to $50 for the unit.

My question was, if he does purchase the unit for this price, does he own the unit or is it leased?

Also, do you think I'd be able to get a deal like this?

Also, I know this may be much, but do you think it'd be possible to get this unit in addition to a 1-2 year $5-$10 monthly rebate for the $29.99 DishHD package?

Again, I know it's probably much to ask, but I'm just questioning....I'm thinking about possibly ditching Dish, but if I could get a sweet deal on the ViP 722, and get the HD package for a good price, I'd be willing to stick with them.

For the prices listed, your friend has himself a lease. You may be able to get that lease price, I don't think the rebates are very realistic for the service you want.

Dish Network will not sell you a receiver. The retailers do sell the receivers and the price for a 722 is $459.00. You can shop around but that's the price for a new 722.

I found it slightly cheaper through Amazon. The cheapest seller sounded flaky through customer reviews.
