Video Game Deals

Origin is having a sale. Some decent, if rather standard deals. You can get the Mass Effect Trilogy for $15 among others.

Also, the original Syndicate game is free. This PC classic was developed by Peter Molyneux back when he was still just considered a great developer and not just a guy who promised the world and never delivered on it.

Starting March 8th, Best Buy Gamer's Club will be permanently reduced to $30 for 2 years membership.

Wow, that's an awful photo BTW. The guy on the right looks like he smelled a fart and is trying to get away without looking rude.

Steam is having a sale for games that are going to be ported to SteamOS. There are some pretty decent prices but I've seen most of these deals before. It's interesting to see some of these bigger games getting Linux ports now that Valve is really pushing SteamOS. If they can keep this up maybe it will be a viable OS for gamers some day. For now you still need Windows if you want to play most games though.

Not much of a sale really... I mean not to be THAT guy but the sale is basically Tomb Raider and 3 games no one ever heard of. How about Beyond Good & Evil, Final Fantasy XIII, Remember Me, Bioshock: Infinite, etc? I'm not putting down you sharing the sale, but rather GMG. This would be like Microsoft doing a sale on games powered by Unreal and just putting on the Gears of War games, simply because it's the most well known one.

Green Man Gaming is having a women in games sale. The highlights are probably Murder She Wrote 1 and 2 for less than $2 each. There are also a bunch of Tomb Raider games and some other stuff. I'm probably going to grab Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light for $2.49.

I know $2.49 won't even buy you a Starbuck's latte, but you might want to check your PSN download queue, as that was one of the first IGC games (back when they stayed around for more than one month). Worth playing, regardless.

The main reason I posted the sale is because I thought it was funny that they were featuring Murder She Wrote games.

I ended up not buying it because the Steam page said controller input was glitchy even though they recommend you play with a controller.

I wouldn't know. Mainly do Frontier Defense and Attrition and I just jump into the maps. I don't think I know even 3 maps by name at this point and I've sunk in at least 10 hours into the game. I feel bad that I got into the game nearly a year late and the game population is probably 20% of what it was at it's peak, but as long as I can still get into games (which I can do honestly faster than I can in the MCC) I have no reason to complain.

I fired up Titanfall last night, and they've actually integrated the DLC maps into all the applicable playlists, so I was able to play 2 new maps for Frontier Defense. I don't know why they just put the DLC stuff into their own segregated playlists as opposed to also rolling into existing playlists. Hopefully now everyone will have all the DLC and we'll get more good games.

That "Prime" package is a pretty good deal, but yeah pretty standard stuff. Ubisoft is pretty good when it comes to deals. Given their sales record along with their shoddy releases, there's literally NO reason to buy a game early on from them. Hell Far Cry 3 is a massive sprawling 40+ hour epic and I can get it for less than the price of a movie ticket in some places.

Also this weekend, you can play PayDay 2 for free and pick it up for 80% off. Perhaps they're doing this to counter GTA V's launching of online heists.

Oh and X rebirth is also free, but that has a mostly negative rating..

Free game! Rise of the Triad (2013) on GOG.

Good luck getting it though. I think the site is getting pounded so it may take a little while. There's only 30,000 available and probably almost a third have been claimed.
