Isn't that Iran/N. Korea's arguement? :)

Feel free to call, see if it works, but all reports are the CSR's cannot add these channels to your account yet. They aren't even suppossed to be live yet according to what scott heard. not until 3pm tomorrow.

As I posted in the Dish HD forum New Channels thread.

I have waiver and have distants from NY and LA, but only a dish pointed at 61.5. I am getting CBS from NY only for the HD feed, all my other distants are from LA.

I am getting CBS from NY in HD on 9483 and 6301

Ok, I'm confused. I understand that the NY HD nets are available on 61.5 but only to MPEG4 receivers - right?

Are these only available as HD LiLs to people in NY or are they also available to subs that already receive the analog NY networks as distants?

Also, is the CBS HD that I've had for 2 years going to stay as it is or will this be thrown into the HD DNS group if in fact it is available?

So NY and LA HD locals have been released into the system. Sounds like they might need to do a activation hit on peoples cards that are eligible for them.

Also, as of 10AM, still no public 622 firmware in the system. Good thing the 622 "officially©®" launched today! :)

Your current cbshd channel is still there with the existing channel tier. I doubt it will be going anywhere. It will mirror the content on the NY local cbs hd. (1 video stream, multiple channel numbers).

Sorry I'm so dense but what I'm not understanding is if the rest of the NY HD networks are now or going to in fact be available as HD distants to those of us that are already receiving the NY distants in SD?

I thought that Charlie said this probably would not happen until later this year, so am wondering if this is a change in plans.

No its okay. The channels have moved from the engineering tier to their own "package" right now. This package appears to have the same authorization as the channels in 241-248 range.

Thus, if you get the NY or LA locals in the 241-248 range you should be seeing the HD local versions right now (in the 6300-6309 range). If you have a 211/411 that is!

I really wish they would have done the NY and LA in MPEG 2. All well, I guess April will be here soon enough.
