Well Youtube TV finally made it to my area, & I've been testing it out for the last 2 days, & I have to admit that the PQ is very good. Now I see why people have been hyping it here.
Beyond the PQ, it's also the most stable of the live OTT TV services. A year ago, based on how much people complained about Sling, DirecTV Now, and Hulu, I thought PS Vue was the gold standard in terms of platform performance stability. Yet, I personally experienced frequent buffering freezes during live TV on PS Vue. With YouTube TV for the past year, I've had fewer buffering freezes or performance fails than I would get in one week with PS Vue (using a hardwired internet connection to 50 Mbps service at the time).

Many others experiencing the same issue on other sites, I immediately noticed not only Prime material but subscriptions like HBO if using the Prime video app have the same lipsync issues. The reason I switched over to the Roku from firetv was for YTTV. Main TV was the Sony Bravia 930D which just died (18 months old) before Superbowl 'Thanks Sony' now has the Nivida Shield. Lots of nice features and happy with the shield.
Ordered the 65" LG C8 OLED but won't be here for SB.
The Sony will end up being a monitor after repairs.

Yeah I have not had really any major issues with the Apps so far I use some on my Samsung Smart but I use some on my Roku which the interface on the Roku is better than what are on some of the Smart Tv's as far as the Apps go. When it comes to Streaming players I always recommend the Roku right now if you buy a Roku they have a promo going where they will throw in a free Month of YouTube TV. Also Roku has a promo going with a bundle where you get the Roku Ultra which I have two as well as a Streaming Stick+ where you save $50 on. So you get the both of them for $99 the stick makes it nice to travel with as well..

I was just notified, that YouTube TV was now available in my area. I looked at the channels which looks like about 40 Channels compared to the channels that I have for Dish. While the price is tempting, the lack of channels vs. what I am getting with Dish is a no brainer to me. I will stick with Dish. I also have an ISP which can sometimes be down, and needs to be restarted sometimes 2 to 3 times a day. If they will add more channels to the lineup on YouTube TV, which can be comparable to Dish's then maybe, I will switch.
One REALLY annoying thing about YouTube TV is the fact that they won't let you select and just record one airing of a show/movie- it records it every time it comes on. This works OK in some cases, but is really annoying in others. I recorded several movies from Starz but since then they have aired on Free Form and other regular cable channels. It recorded every single airing of it on FreeForm and TNT and in the process removed the unedited IFC and Starz recordings! I wish it had the capability to "save" a recording to the maximum 9 month period. Now instead of watching an unedited commercial free recording I can only watch the edited cable network version with commercials.

They offer NBA League Pass and everyone seems to like the way it works. Unfortunately the response I got from customer service was that they had run into issues with MLB and didn't anticipate it being available any time soon. Others on the Reddit group have posted similar replies they got. Because of that I decided to "Pause" my subscription until football season comes back around in March.

It has been a perennial issue with DVR service that when you left, you forfeited all your recordings.
They did when I paused a few months ago to test a different service. I came back and everything was as it was.
Now they let you "Pause" your account for up to 6 months at a time. All your recordings, etc. are still saved for 9 months from the time they are recorded. They actually save recordings even when you cancel though. I tried out the service back in 2017 when it first came to Charlotte but cancelled because it was missing the TBS/TNT, etc. at the time. When I signed back up during football season this year my DVR recordings were still there from my original trial.
I sign up during football season mainly because I can watch on the go easier. Another good trick is if you "spoof" your location you can watch an affiliate from any of their markets. If there is an out of market NFL game you want to see you just have to find a market it is in, either spoof your location or use a VPN there and you're good to go.
That sucks. Thanks for alerting us. Though I do add movies to my library periodically, it never occurred to me this could happen to ones I've been sitting on for a few months. I actually subbed to Starz directly from Starz to take advantage of a recent promo offer. I was considering switching to subbing through YTTV once the promo price ended, but now I probably won't (I would mainly be watching through the Starz app anyway for 5.1 audio).
I came across a related situation with recordings of TV episodes. The new Syfy series Deadly Class has a lot of profanity, including f-bombs. If you watch the original 10pm recording, none of it gets bleeped out. But if you watch a later recorded airing from earlier in the day, it is. So this week I had to make a point of watching the first 10pm airing before it got pushed off my recording list by a half-dozen more recent midday re-airings.
VOD Starz movies should be added to your library regardless how many times it records from other channels. It should allow you to choose which recording.
But once those movies expire from the Starz service, you won't have access. If you recorded them, you should have them for 9 months from the date of the final linear broadcast airing.
You can always get MLB.TV on its own app..A lot of neat features as well using a laptop like 4 screens at a time..not to mention cable wants $199 & MLB.TV only wants $118 for all pre & regular season games.
I know I'm a little late posting this but one feature I LOVE is the fact that YouTube TV created a Library pass option to record the ENTIRE NCAA Tournament in one step! Search for NCAAM Basketball and click the + icon. It should give you a pop up that gives you the option to record every NCAA Basketball game (including NIT games) or to record every NCAA Tournament game.
It's a great feature ... but only as long as YTTV can manage to not go down nationwide during the tournament, like it did last night for about an hour, during prime time no less. That's the third time during a major sporting event in the past year that the normally rock solid YTTV has gone down. The last two times all customers were given a free week of service, so at least YTTV does right by its customers. Customers didn't even have to contact YTTV to complain to get the credit.
This seems...fragile, especially considering YTTV has a lot fewer customers than some other OTT vendors, like Sling and Hulu.
It seems if it was a matter of being fragile, YTTV would go down more often during major supporting events. No problems that I'm aware of during the NFL season, including playoffs and Super Bowl, or major awards shows. The three times to date for major nationwide outages lasting 30-60 minutes were during a World Cup quarterfinal or semifinal (mid-day), during an MLB playoff game (not the World Series), and the start of this year's March Madness tournament (no problems during last year's). The first two YTTV quickly acknowledged and made good on. No word yet on last night's.
