The real season: NBA

Usually I never do this but since we're just having fun I'm gonna say it: Warriors win tonight!

Oracle Arena is gonna be rocking tonight and Dallas has not won in Oakland in these playoffs "yet". Ratings in the Bay Area for these Warriors games have been very high, so a lot of us are behind them.

It's gonna be a fun game tonight.

It has been THE BEST series of the playoffs so far...!! AND if it goes to a game 7....it could be the BEST serious of ALL playoff series this year...!

"AND if it goes to a game 7"

Dang, I hope not. But you're right, all the games have been pretty good except for the blowout last Friday where we just ran the Mavs out of the building. :)

This Warriors team is very young. Ellis and Biedrins are just 21 yrs. old and the oldest is Jackson at 29 so this is great experience for them but they need to learn to close games. QUICKLY!

I am sorry, but if ANYONE actually thinks Dirk "The Invisible Man" is an MVP, they are crazy!! He had a VERY good season, but he ABSOLUTELY NO-SHOWED in this series. It is amazing to me that someone almost 7 feet tall is no where to be found. Bad match-ups are a bitch...and disappearing "go-to" guys thrown in that mix is a recipe for losing. IMO, having the best record in the league and NOT get AT LEAST into the conference finals..... THAT is almost a complete failure of a season. When I worked in sport media in Chicago, I had a group that covered the Bulls 72 win season....and to me..and everyone agreed, if the Bulls did not ATLEAST make the conference finals....that would have be a wasted effort....but they won it all.

I don't know salsa but to me he was the MVP for the regular season. Having said that, did anyone looked at Nowitzki's face througout this series? This guy looked like a zombie, someone with no soul. He was completely lost out there.

As far as the Mavs' season being failure, oh yeah it was a huge failure. They won 67 games during the reg. season and didn't make it through the first round, like my daughter would say: "That's a humongous failure".

The way the Mavs played in the playoffs, they certainly don't deserve to stay there. I can't believe they stunk that bad.

I am sorry, but if ANYONE actually thinks Dirk "The Invisible Man" is an MVP, they are crazy!! He had a VERY good season, but he ABSOLUTELY NO-SHOWED in this series.
True, but the MVP only covers the regular season...that's why they have a separate MVP for the post-season. There is no way Dirk isn't #1 or #2.

I used to like the Mavs...until Cuban's side-court antics last year that drew attention to him and away from the team. I feel sorry for the players and coaching staff (they had a great regular season), but it serves Cuban right for joining the HD-Lite camp.

That's a good argument too. To me, the MVP is the one person on the team who, without him, they would be nowhere.

Nope....because then you can say if the Lakers did NOT have Lammar Odom, they would have NOT made the playoffs....so the argument is moot. This years NBA Playoffs(and the playoffs have officially attested to this with the ulgy eliminations of last years champion and runner-up) are as wide open as the MVP....and yes, that is EXACTLY what the leaguer wanted...good ole parity. Back to the MVP, I think it is a 4 way tie....Kobe, KJ, Dirk and Nash....

I still say give the MVP to Kobe. He had no one else on his team to help him; unlike Dirk or Nash.

I don't think so. I agree with Salsadancer, Kobe is the most talented player in the NBA but he's not the MVP.

Now, bring on the Houston Rockets so the Warriors can continue the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre". Just kidding but I think the Rockets will win at home tomorrow.

Wow, Detroit steamed-rolled the Bulls this evening. I though the game was going to be more competitive. Anyway, the Pistons look like the team to beat in the east.

I thought this would be a 7 game series, but after game 1, I'm not so sure. If the Bulls don't regroup in game 2, it could be a short series. Just goes to show that the "real season" is a whole different animal. The Pistons played all season just well enough to get them to this point. Now they're healthy, rested and motivated, with a deep bench to boot. This is a big difference from last season. Another title is in reach.
