The NEW iPhone 4S Discussion

Mine is ordered through Verizon. Did it five minutes ago. $249 for the 32gb white 4S. Ordering process was smooth as butter. ;).

Did not order the sim card as I did not want a global plan. Hope that does not bite me in the arse someday when I need it, but that's a risk I will take.

The conversion is now complete. iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac. :D

Appropriately ordered it on my iPad. :)

You have been assimilated. :D

Verizon is taunting AT&T on their Facebook page this morning..

I ordered 3 of them (for my wife, son and me.)

So, what are you going to do when the iPhone 5 is released in a few months? ;)

I don't think you'll see an iPhone 5 until NEXT fall. iPad 3 = spring, iPhone 5 in a year. Highly unlikely for them to do anything else. The cycle matters for Apple.

In spring it will be the 2 year contract expiration for all AT&T iPhone 4 users...

If you keep your music in the cloud, won't that require you to stream it to your phone? I wouldn't want to hit my data cap just from streaming my own music.

Buy an iPhone 5 of course :D

Got to be honest one of the big reasons I ordered it is because my Sprint EVO is starting to die, I was not really impressed with the new iPhone, I was expecting more. But between a iPhone and Android the iPhone is the more polished easy to use device.

I still think it will be next fall. Too many problems with 4g and battery issues to pass the Apple threshold. They are a bit mor picky than Android with functionality. And the hype for the next device will keep folks anxiously waiting, just like this year.

My only disappointment is the screen size. I actually like the shape of the 4, just would have liked a 4 inch screen. But other than that, basically having the power of an iPad in a phon, with it's smooth operability - you know, the buttery issue - makes it worth it.

I got to be honest I dont listen to my music collection often. 99% of the time when using the phone I am not listening to my music.. instead I am listening to other online streaming services (Sirius/XM, Slacker, RadioIO, etc..) the only real time when I listen my music is when I got a song in my head and I need to hear it.

With the music in the cloud I have access to my music at anytime, without eating space on my device.

With all I do online I am really surprised as I have never come close to hitting my 2 GB cap...

When I bought the wife her Incredible, I put a screen protector. She didn't want a case. Was dropped with a month. Cracked screen. I plan to make sure I have a screen protector and case for the 4S, before it arrives for her. I may wait until after the 14th and hit the local Apple store to upgrade. It looks like the new AppleCare plan for the 4S is the way to go, for insurance? $99 for 2 years of coverage. $49 per damage incident to replace. Total coverage from Verizon is $10.99 a month. For the 32GB , $199 non–refundable deductible per approved claim!? What the hell is VZ smoking?

Marketing wise, I think Apple just had their Windows Millennium.

Meanwhile, my son and I need to upgrade from our 3G IPhones... Half the apps don't work anymore, and it locks up twice a day requiring a reboot (that now takes 7 minutes to complete thanks to all those software "improvements and bug fixes". Me thinks they will have the IPhone rushed out next June to get their mojo back, but this will be good enough for now to get me operational again... I may only go for the $199 version though... Still use my Zune HD for all my media consumption (still a way better device for audio and video quality, not to mention the fact that I can share all my media across my PCs, my XBox360, and my Zune))

Apple has a new protection play for $99 which covers everything including accidential damage. Its nice because if you break it they will repair it for free, and will even give you the option of replacing the phone up to two times for $49 each time. (If you dont want to wait for them to repair it I guess.)

My wife keeps hitting the cap with her blackberry and she ONLY uses it for email. Yeah, a lot of attachments, and she is never in a wifi hotspot evidently (She is the Executive Director of the American Diabetes Association in NYC -- Anyone want to do a charity bike tour in two weeks?.... lol .

well many many people use the coverage because they dont know how to work the phone.
i think vzw is getting tired of the returns.
heck some people return and return so often that vzw upgrade them to a diff model
and there was nothing wrong with thier phones to begin with

Is it possible to preorder the 2 of the 4S using an employee discount and adding a 3rd line on Verizon's website? I click on the link for the employee discount and I can shop for phones, and even see the 4S, but when I click on the 4S it takes me to the preorder part that everyone sees and I can only pick the iPhone but the familytalk plans are the normal price. Will I have to call them?
