The NEW iPhone 4S Discussion

Rob McMahon, a former programmer at Apple posted this on google plus tonight.

The iPhone 4S was announced just yesterday and then Steve died today. People were disappointed that they didn't call it an iPhone 5 but now I think the name is perfectly fitting.

iPhone 4S = iPhone For Steve

You should be able to get your upgrade pricing through Apple. With AT&T you always were able to do the upgrade with the same pricing as at the AT&T store.

phone yes, but you wont get the new every 2 credit, and its the last one. but $50 is $50

The beta will be released at the end of the month.
You sure about that? I thought it was coming with the iphone S release on the 14th. I do see this at Apple.com "Siri is available in Beta only on iPhone 4S and requires Internet access." ,
but assumed the beta would be part of the 14th release.

Nope they said SIRI would be available as a beta download at the end of October.

I dont understand why the iPad 2 cant run SIRI as well since its the same CPU.

Yes, the iPad 2 does have the same processor but it doesn't have 1G of memory and Siri requires that. I'm sure you'll see it on the iPad 3 but only because the additional memory should be available there.

I watched the keynote speech again, Siri section. He stated Siri will launch with the 4S in English, French, and German. But will be Beta.
Has something changed since the announcement?

Just got an email from Verizon. Pre-sale begins at 3:01am Eastern. Oy... If I wake up in the middle of the night I'll go online, otherwise, I'll just wait until I get up at 6, and if I am too late, I'll live. :)
