The LeBron James Free Agency Thread

Miami may have the cap space, but I don't think LeBron would potentially mesh well with Wade, whereas Miami's #1 goal is to not let Flash get away.

I'm not sold on Chicago. Hinrich's gone, Deng could be gone- that would essentially be a two-man team, and you need a solid starting five to win.

I'm still going to say LeBoob stays in Cleveland.

I think from day one...the HEAT were looking MORE for a Bosh pick-up than a Lebron pick-up. In the long wrong, regardless of where he goes.... Miami and Chicago are going to improve their roster big time...and the CAVS will drop a notch or two.

I found it funny listening to Chicago sports radio handicapping where it was better for Lebron. They kept bringing up that they could not understand the appeal of Miami over NYC, Chicago and southern Call. These boobs...LOL...can you say no state taxes and an average city tax of LESS than 2% than those big cities.

Screw LeBoob! If he leaves, I'm done with NBA basketball. I might as well find another hobby, because there's no saving grace in any of my other sports either. The Injuns are a joke too. Pretty sad when the best thing going for this sports town are the Browns.

That's akin to me saying the best thing going in my town is the Lions.:D

D Rose, LeBron, Deng, Bosh, Noah. Taj Gibson off the bench. Sounds like moe than a 2 man team to me.

Hopefully the Lakers can get him and we can turn our fortunes around. It's been too long since we were successful :(

huh, are you serious?? we don't want chumps that can't even win in the playoffs after a so called best record back to back seasons hehe
s
Now maybe The Clippers can use him since they do need to get to the playoffs at least once every 10 yrs LOL

speaking of the clippers, there is some random rumor gong around that they might get Paul Pierce. Why would Pierce leave the Celtics(he has a player option) to go to the worst team in the league

You know what, that was wrong of me to say and I take that back. If LeBoob does leave, this team needs my support more so than ever. Sure I've fallen for LeBron over the years, but one man shouldn't define a team. I root for the name on the front of the jersey, not the back. So, let me clarify my statement: if LeBoob does leave, I will support those that actually want to be here and root against those that don't. My support of the home team will not waiver one bit. Sure we might not be as good, but I will continue to root, root, root for the home team.

Also, you better believe that if LeBoob does leave, he's creating a huge monster. Let's just put it this way: Cleveland doesn't take to kindly to betrayal. Ask Arthur Model.

Well he be close to the HOOD back in INGLEWOOD that's for sure. Where it all began for him.

The BULLS are the fronts runners. IF they take Lebron, more than likely Bosh comes with him. Then Miami will get Amare and either Joe Johnson or Boozer with Wade, either was you look at it....more and more, it is look like Miami and Chicago will greatly improve for next year.

...and New York and New Jersey could in the outside looking in.

I don't understand the Leboob name. The difference between WHAT he make in Cleveland and anywhere else is minimal. His BIG money will be in endoresements and will MORE than make up the difference if he goes somewhere else.

The smart thing for any free agent is to sign in either of the Florida or Texas, which are the only states that have NO state taxes and have NBA teams. ALSO, Miami has one of the lowest sales tax of any city with more than 2 million citizens. They are at around 6% and Chicago.....9.95% and NYC around 9.25%.

...put ALL that into the equation....suddenly, South Beach and the weather are not the "ONLY" reason to play in Florida or Texas.

Additional endorsement income could make savings on sales tax VERY insignificant. ;)

In the age of GLOBAL marketing by way of the net, you can litterally make the same thing living in Akron than living on Madison Avenue. Lebron has PROVED that. 20 years ago, I would said hell yeah....NOW, in a world where you are in Being with a click of a button....I say not so.

But remember, most Bulls players actually spend very little time in Chicago. Team headquarters are in Deerfield and most players also live in Lake County. Sales Tax is 7.5% in Lake County, a good drop from Cook County & Chicago. Sate Income tax is now 3.5%, may be going up if the current crook Gov gets his way.

Yeah....but if you add up what it cost to drive in that state, live in that state, buy in that state...it adds up.

I know, I lived there for 9 years and my wife lived there for 28 years. ADD the state taxes....and it adds up REAL quick. I lived there from 88-97 and I thought it was VERY expensive then!

You need a better accountant...you know, like one Lebron James can afford. Someone with an accounting degree from St. John's. ;)
