The Goldbergs

I went to the movie theater earlier today and saw this same preview shown in the video. Looks good, will give it a shot.

I loved the scene with Gramps driving a Red Trans-Am with a big black eagle on the hood. It looked just like my 1982 Trans-Am. LOved that car till the pop up head lights started staying up all the time or only one of them stayed up .

Still watching it, but it isn't exactly Shakespeare we are talking about. I'll keep watching for now, since I loved the 80s music and pop culture and the nostalgia is fun.

I like the show ,but I liked the 80s and the nostalgia runs deep on this show. I think ABC is trying to be careful in only ordering 3 more episodes, rather than committing to a full season of shows. That way they aren't out too much money if the show bombs out in the end.

I think they give up too easily on some of these shows. Perhaps they are afraid that if they do not attract a good audience early on then they will have a hard time gaining traction later on.

I agree. If they would let it run a full season or even as a mid season replacement , it might gain some traction with an audience. It's hard to do that if they only run 2 or 3 of the episodes and then start running specials ,sports and holiday shows in their place. That makes a lot of people not even watch the show because they don't want to invest any time in a group of characters because they might cancel it. The networks afraid that the show will bomb , only make a few episodes . The chicken and egg scenario played out .

It's grown on me and looking back to the 80's stuff is great.

For those that watch how you could you not laugh at the "scrambled cable" episode lol

Used to do that in the late 70s before we got Showtime. Remember Showtime and the naughty aerobic 15 minute segments? They used to have 2 or 3 girls in leotards all bumping their booties together in a circle. Then they moved to mixed couple action and it got dirtier from there. Back then there was only 1 channel of Showtime or Hbo and Cinemax.

70s and 80s bring me good memories, I think life was simpler then and there was just one flavor of many channels, then the same in 80s for MTV, VHI...wow now that I remember MTV, and VHI back then only used to air music videos,

I like the characters but the jumble of products, movies and events in all different years is damn irritating. Like in this last episode the kid says Say Anything is his favorite movie which came out in 1989 yet a scene later his brother is eating Pacman cereal from the early 80s.

I thought say anything was a bit later as well when he did that part
