The AL West 2009

The Mariners are returning to form...as in 2008 form. When they pitch good they can't hit a lick, and when they hit get bad defense and lackluster pitching.

And look how the crowds have already diminished. If I lived in seattle I'd go just to watch Ichiro scale the fence! It's just the beginning of the season. Seattle has plenty of time to turn it around.

Things aren't looking to good for Dustin Moseley, though. He has been sent back for re-evaluation on his ulna nerve after throwing in AZ.:(
I heard. Maybe it's a good thing for him, tho. Give him a chance to get his head back in the game, get a little hungry. I'm with you on the Fuentes thing! Of course I was one calling for Arredondo to be our closer---guess there's a reason Scioscia gets the big bucks and not me, huh? Fuentes is supposedly a late starter. If last night was any indication of what he has...then he's a welcome addition in my book. Those were great pitches. I just don't think Torii Hunter should be having to scale walls and rob home-runs to save our closer's saves....(altho, I was at that game and DAMN!!!!)

Would that be Josh Lewin?

Yes, Bill...Apologies. I should have properly identified for those of you out of market. Granted, the Rangers are now 4.5 games ahead of the Angels and playing well. But, to hear him the playoffs start next week and the Rangers have it all.

A tad peremature, I'd say. Although the Rangers are now the challenger in the division I was looking for in March. If they continue to play well, I expect the Angels to really up their game this Summer knowing they have someone to "play" with. :hungry:

No problem, KCK. I figured you were talking about Lewin. I never cared for his call on either baseball or football.

As far as the AL West goes, I'm STILL not convinced the Rangers have the pitching (especially with the June/July/August heat in Arlington) to contend with the Halos.

I agree, I see no reason for the Angels to worry, Texas pitching has ALWAYS been thier downfall .....

Well, the Rangers TV booth keeps touting how the starting pitchers now have Nolan Ryan to stare down at them as they walk off the field. This is supposed to be their karma or some damn thing that is to guide them to the Promise Land. (Kinda like the Cardinal (?) blessing the Cubs dugout before last year's playoffs. :what

Wow.... You Angels fans sure sound jealous that for once in a while the Rangers are where your team usually sits. Again I ask why not let us enjoy the ride? We know we will have a tough time as the summer heat does take its toll on our pitching staff.

Saying stuff like us keeping this up = playoffs is a way to keep thinking positive.

Little sensitive there ???

Cute cat btw !

Angels come back from being down 8-1 to get a walk-off bases loaded hit from Morales off of Ardsma.

HOWEVER...Santana looked like a lost bobblehead doll on the mound the first 4 innings. He is NOT back to his former self mentally or physically at all.

Texas finally lost one...so we can keep up the pace somewhat.

AMAZING Game today! Rumblings out there that Santana may be needing surgery....he sure is NOT on his game at all. Torii knocked a homer right over the Del TAco sign, had to make Tony Reagins smile!, Naps checked in with a homer. Vlad is hitting again, I'm seriously looking for him to long before week's over. After last night and the first half of this game, we needed this. Love hearing those fireworks from my window and seeing that halo lit!!!

Sounds like the Rangers game yesterday. Down 4-0, then we tie it at 4-4, the lose it in the top of the 9th 5-4.

Francisco finally gives up a run. First one since last August. :(
