Hooray. Finally more hockey. If there is one thing I wanted, it was more hockey. Please E*, continue to add more hockey. Maybe get rid of local and news and genre channels so we can have more hockey. I hope I am reincarnated as myself so I can buy a second Dish setup and sit next to myself and watch more hockey. Yay for hockey.

Oh wait. I forgot. I hate hockey. I want SciFi. I want Battlestar Galactica in glorious HD. Hockey is one of those sports things, right? Where people hit things with sticks at each other?

I'm willing to be that Dish Network still has more hours of true HD programming per day than DirecTV...
Hey when I posted, it was not to bash dish or anything like that. If anything I would like to motovate dish into doing the right thing. There are several things that lead me to jumping ship. It was a combination of all of them that lead me to say enough is enough. Just because I have jumped ship does not mean that I dont care about this company. Trust me I do in more ways than one.
The reason why I jumped ship was becuase of
1. Previous yanking of channels and the Loss of MLB EI
2. Lack of communication from Dish and Responce.
3. Lack of WGN-DT and 24 hour Feed of Comcast Sports net
4. Directv's new additions of the movie channels (wich is double what I had with dish)
5. Quality on those channels. WOW and Wow and WOW just doesnt cover it.
6. There was no price diffrence between the packages, and I got more in value with Directv.
Im sure that I can cover other reasons, but people jumping ship to D* is a reality wich dish will see in their numbers. I gave dish a few weeks to respond but yet its been over a month sence directv started their waves of new hd channels (4 weeks to be exact). So I jumped ship.
When your the hd leader you throw them a hard hook and fire back. It shows your serious. I dont think too many people belive charlie when he says that he will be the hd leader because He is infact the CEO, and its his job to spin things. Dish has yet to throw any hook, and with the addition with the NHL network today, it looks like dish threw a girls punch, and directv is going for the Tyson Knock out blow.
My gut feeling is when dish does wake up, we will be seeing new leadership at dish and the name will be ATT. Charlie will continue with Echostar, and have his riches, the damage will be more than done, and it will be a few years before ATT Dish Network fully recovers.

Bob, you don't have to justify your reasons to anyone. I have to give you credit for thinking and deciding on your own, which, as evidenced by some comments on this and other forums, some people don't have that ability.
I'd rather have Battlestar Galactica in glorious HD on UniversalHD where they don't have constant popups advertising that Ghost Hunters is coming on and don't constantly have their logo burning in my screen.
Every consumer has to make the choices that are right for them. Competition is about selecting the superior provider and right now that is D*. There's nothing personal about it, it's just a straightforward decision about who provides the most value for the money.
I expect that a lot of subscribers will be switching/choosing D* now because they are carrying through on their plans for more HD content and the raw numbers of subs probably won't show up on the corporate spreadsheets in accounting at E* until the first half of Jan.
Ever wonder about how a successful company can lose its edge and become an also ran? ie, Montgomery Wards, TG&Y, Otasco. I think this is how it's done!

I'm happy for all the former Dish Network customers who have "Jumped ship" and are so deliriously happy about the wonderful HD programming they now have. I just don't understand why they feel compelled to post their bitter rants on this forum. Competition is a wonderful thing, if you left Dish for what YOU believe is better service and better programming then bully for you. BE HAPPY.......and stop wasting everyones time being bitter at Charlie and whining about Dish. I left Comcast for Dish Network and I've never looked back......and there may come a day when Direct TV seems like a better value to me and I'll leave.......but I wont be bitter.....I'll be doing what I feel is best for me.
I am still so happy that i left Charter for E*. They still have a ton more HD content and that is the main reason I left, plus the Value is better. Picture quality isnt a competion, and overall everything is going great. I still have charter for Broadband. Probley the best available in my area...exspecially in Raw speed (10 meg down and 1 meg up) Which is really nice. But I am still a firm believer in that when E* gets there new birds up, everyone will have the same HD content...Now if we could only get all the channels to have Actual HD all the time rather then stretch o vision.

Can we get this back to uplink report discussion? I really am interested in everyone's opinions about D* and E*, but would prefer to see uplink discussion when I see new activity here in this thread. Or maybe I just haven't had enough coffee and y'all really ARE discussing uplink activity..... in which case..... nevermind
People forget that E* had more HD channels than D* for almost more than one year. If D* got exclusive rights to carry for some months some of the new HD channels what can E* do? Wait. It has been less than two months since D* started for their HD push.
