Why can't he say what he wants? He's doing the board a service, but can't have an opinion about what's going on? Please. Lighten up.
I didn't say he can't I just say if he don't enjoy his job anymore he should let somebody else who do. And trust me is nothing personal I think he a great guy but he don't feel cool with this.
People are forgetting this is a DISCUSSION board. I think GoalieBob is an Excellent example. He was a Dish cust, but their lack of communications led to him jumping to D*.
I don't think he's upset about doing the job, I think he's upset that Dish didn't add HD channels.
One version (403) would be included in the sports package while the other (559)would be included with the Center Ice Package. I would assume the one at 559 would disappear when the package ends (May or so) while the channel would continue in the off months
Ummm, Bob likes doing what he does but he just typed something a lot of us were thinking about and has every right too. You however have been on an attack on Bob for several days. Nothing he said was bashing. He made a statement, as did you and I.
Like I said is nothing personal but some of you are easy to forgive who was the leader until a couple of weeks ago for years without any response form nobody in the industry,Now everybody exepct a response in the way boxers can return a punch, Is easy when you have a new satellite on space to get bandwith available for new channels,But now this rant is getting nowhere is most of you aren't happy now why just switch providers and resolve your problem just like some people already have?
Can't help but think things would be quite a bit looser around here if we would get a few more HD channels thrown our way. This is getting a little frustrating.
You are absolutely correct; however, there's no reason to get frustrated about something we have no control over.
We can hope that Charlie will reward loyalty and take care of us but he cares only about himself (which is fair enough). Similarly, we should care only about OURSELVES and be glad that we (or at least many of us) have options. Charlie doesn't give us the HD we want in the timeframe we want? Fine: we switch to D*-competition is wonderful, on top of which E* will get exactly what it deserves.
Every Wednesday is getting to be National Angst day around here; what we all need is to keep our expectations low.
Again, I realize not everyone can switch and that it won't be economical for others, and that is indeed a problem. Otherwise, be glad there IS an option.

I can only speak for myself. It's not so much the lack of new channels..It is the lack of any sort of communications or plan. I know i'd feel better if Dish came out and said they were wroking hard to add x amount of channels within the next few months.
AND it's not just us. Numerous sources have now said that Dish employees are very discouraged and there is a lack of morale over there right now. It's very obviously the AT&T talks are looming over everything.
I think you are correct ,But to get expectation on a real time frame without details inside corporate I think is asking too much in my view.
People doing the uplink reports are doing the rest of us a big service by taking the time to post the report. It has to be a thankless job recently but I appreciate anyone getting me information that I want but can't get on my own. Especially when they aren't doing it as a paying job but rather a responsibility they've just taken upon themselves.
A while ago I volunteered to do movie reviews and actually felt some sense of relief when my HD-A1 began to malfunction and I had to back out. It gave me a whole new appreciation of what the staff and other members do here.

Countless times in the past that communication has not been forthcoming directly from Dish but thru Scott who has managed to dig up information here or there. In fact I've come to rely much more on what Scott has to say than what Dish says directly (especially recently). I'm sure Scott is working hard on getting us more information. All we can do is be patient. To quote Michael Valentine Smith, "waiting is." (hope everyone here is a Heinlein fan)
At least Charlie threw us a bone (i mean puck) this week as far as HD goes. Per Old Mother Hubbard my feeling is that the cupboard will be bare as far as future HD bones go.
