Dear friends:

Have you noticed lately this past week that at the same time (around 1:00pm central time) the dish network signal is gone for 3 or 4 minutes ?

During this time all I get is a ACQUIRING SATELLITE SIGNAL blue screen, then suddenly it fixes it self.

Does anybody knows why this happens ? Does anybody knows if this will happen again ?

I talked to my friends at the same time and they all have experienced the same thing. Two of them mentioned that this happens from time to time at no specific time.

YES! This happend just a little while ago here in Vegas and happened yesterday too. I thought it must be very cloudy outside and it wasn't. Then I thought it was just a fluke but it happened on my 2nd receiver a couple days ago. So, yeah, something is going on.
Another strange thing about it is I couldn't even tune to a local OTA channel. I could only get to the guide through the menu key and pushed select on an OTA channel and still got the Aquiring Signal error.

You are most likely expierencing a Sun Outage, which occur in the spring and fall for about 10 days when the sun appears directly behind the sat. on a line from the sun to the sat to your position.

this explains it better than I can and from the calculator it appears to be happening
