Yes there are. SHVERA contains some rules about HD DNS and the FCC has even published a fact sheet that specifically says that anyone qualified to receive analog distants is also qualified to receive HD distants.Iceberg said:

If your household is predicted to be “unserved” by the analog signals of a network station, you qualify for the distant digital signal of that network, if it is offered by your satellite carrier. If your satellite carrier offers local-into-local analog service, you must subscribe to it in order to qualify for distant digital signals. If you qualify for distant signal service, the SHVERA statute specifies that you can only receive signals from stations located in your same time zone or in a later time zone, not in an earlier time zone.
It's the digital testing procdure that's not available yet. It's supposed to become available April 30th for the top 100 DMAs and next July for the rest. Once that's in place, there will be a way to "appeal" signal predictions.

I've had c-band network service for more than a decade.Even have some old bills as proof and a waiver from one network.

"Large task force" huh, if you believe that, I've got an old 4000 I'll sell you. I doubt they even have a "large task force" working on the bugs in their 622 flagship receiver. If Dish could assemble a "large task force" over anything, it would probably be a legal team to fight Tivo's lawsuit.

(& normally, D* pretty much follows the letter of the law, or even errs on the side of caution in these matters)I believe Iceberg means there are no Dish Network rules yet..........Sat. Providers are not required to supply "distant HD Nets".................I am also eagerly waiting for Dish to provide more than CBS HD to "white" area's.
I was told by a CSR in Bangladesh or some other ESL location that I could if I upgraded to a 622. This info is probably incorrect but does not really make any difference since there is no way I am going to put any more dough in Dish's pocket until they straighten out the west coast 129 signal problems.

As previously mentioned we need to petition dish with lots of inquiries. Be nice and tell them it would really make you happy
