Yes there are. SHVERA contains some rules about HD DNS and the FCC has even published a fact sheet that specifically says that anyone qualified to receive analog distants is also qualified to receive HD distants.Iceberg said:nope
There are no rules for distant HD yet...

I'm located in New Jersey.Could I get LA Hd channels if I started dish service paying for locals?

Thank you for your email. I am replying to your question concerning distance channels being in High Def. Currently they are not, but they will be in the future. I have not received a time frame yet, but there is a large task force working on all the details. If you have any further concerns please let me know.
Sincerely,

Did you use the ceo@echostar.com email or a different one? I would like to email them about this, also. I figure the more emails they get, the better.

Yes, email ceo@echostar.com. David Laslo seems to be answering most of them now. I sent one last week and he got back to me within 3-4 hours. Of course the answer was the same- "we are looking at this but do not currently have a timeline". I would advise anyone who is interested in distant HD networks to email them. As previously mentioned we need to petition dish with lots of inquiries. Be nice and tell them it would really make you happy . Gerry
