I am having a good time with it on PS4. It depends if you are into multiplayer shooters though. I played the first mission of the campaign and had enough. The story just isn't good and it's not as fun as a single player experience as something like Killzone, Halo, or Gears of War.
On the other hand, if you are into multiplayer shooters Battlefield 4 is pretty great. The 64 player conquest matches are like nothing I have ever played before. Not only are there tons of people running around on huge maps but there are also tanks, LAVs, helicopters, jets, boats, jet skies, four wheelers, etc... You can take any of these vehicles into a capture point to cause some havoc while your teammates man the guns. There are 4 different classes of soldiers to pick from with different weapons and abilities. The game doesn't emphasize your kill-death ratio as much as something like COD. You can get near the top of your teams leaderboard by repairing vehicles as an engineer, reviving teammates, supplying ammo, spotting enemies for your teammates, and all kinds of other things. It really is a great multiplayer experience and that's why I can't wait for them to bring Star Wars Battlefront back.
I have experienced one glitch a few times. Sometimes when I get in a vehicle all the sound besides gunfire and nearby vehicles stops playing. Once this happens it doesn't come back until I am loaded into another level for the next match. It is very jarring when all the normally impressive background noise just disappears for 20 minutes or so. Outside of that, everything is working well for me.
If you are into multiplayer shooters and you have a PC, PS4, or Xbox One I say pick up BF4. I don't think you will regret it as long as you are ok with completely ignoring the single player campaign.
If you are playing on PS3 or 360 it's slightly harder to recommend. In addition to the visual pop, those versions are also missing the 64 player conquest mode I raved about earlier. The 360/PS3 versions are limited to 32 players and I assume, smaller maps. That being said, all the vehicles and soldier classes are still there. It is still the same type of gameplay but on a smaller scale.
