Pryor leaving OSU

I think it would be funny -- and not surprising given the recent info about Goodell steering Michael Vick to the Eagles -- if Goodell, ummm, "convinced" all of the teams to simply NOT draft him after he drops the 5-game suspension.

I still say, as I did up ^ above ^, that Pryor and his 'team' made a deal with Goodell and this is just a "fake" fight given the controversy that's come about since the announcement.

Hall,
The BAN won't take effect till he is chosen by a team, so Goddell can't say Nobody take him till after the Ban.

However, I think it would be interesting to see NO ONE take him ....
Unfortunately that would make him a FA.

I heard someone mumble something about a position change this morning, but no one said to where or what team was thinking about it.

Sorry Derwin, I didn't see your post till after I posted.

Pryor is suing, or planning to, the NFL over the suspension. To avoid a lawsuit, Goodell agrees to drop the suspension but 'secretly' advises the teams not to pick him.

And if the NFLPA can prove it, the NFL could be sued for collusion I would think.

I think it's WAY to soon to speculate what Pryor and his Attorney does, he has to be DRAFTED first.
I say... If he's drafted, he drops the (proposed) lawsuit. Why not ? He's in the NFL after all ! If he doesn't get drafted, they'll continue with the suit. Not sure what he'd gain, of course, other than some made-up "loss of income" type claim. They'll argue that teams weren't interested in him because he'd have to sit out. Face it though, unless a team needs a starting QB right now, he'd be drafted as a back-up anyway (and likely not play).

Teams present at his workout according to Albert Breer: Pitt, Wash, NO, TB, Dal, SD, Buff, Cle, Det, Ind, Phi, Oak, Mia, SF

I wonder how many of them are there to see if he could be a WR or a half back ?

A position change would be the BEST thing he could do for his career, many have done it before him successfully.

A team like Indianapolis could draft him & have him sit & develop under Peyton Manning. With his size,I'd try him out as QB first, especially if there is no hurry to start him. A team that has an established QB already, like Indianapolis,Pittsburgh,San Diego,or New Orleans would be a good place for him to go to develop.

Word out of Oakland from my buddies, there is alot of talk that the Raiders will take him in the 3rd, if he is still available. He did his 40s in 4.41 and 4.38, unofficially.

Ballsy move by the Raiders if this comes to fruition. Not sure Pryor would be any smarter than Russell based on his past.

I'd expect a number of teams would be willing to give a 3rd to this project, 16 teams will have an easier chance at drafting him over the Raiders though, and any team that falls in love will probably have to give up a 2nd.

Priority for the supplemental draft will be determined by a weighted lottery. The weakest club (this year, the Panthers) receives the most chances, with 32. The strongest team (the Packers) gets the fewest, with one.

The order of priority for the six weakest teams is determined first via picking chances from a container, which means that the Panthers will be no lower than sixth. Then, the lottery chances for the remaining 14 non-playoffs teams will be placed in the container and the No. 7 through No. 20 spots will be determined.

Finally, the lottery chances for the 12 postseason teams will be placed in the container to determine the final dozen slots on the priority chart.

The draft then unfolds with each team determining on a round-by-round basis whether to use, before the round begins, the corresponding pick from the 2012 draft. If multiple teams pick the same player in the same round, the priority list determines which team gets the player.

Supplemental draft order is determined, as always, by a weighted lottery | ProFootballTalk

The same thing that will happen if he goes to many other teams - he won't ever play QB ;)

Will kinda feel bad if a team takes him for a higher value pick that really needs a QB and he lives up to the analysts predictions that he won't cut it as an NFL QB.

Thats why the post about him going to Indy to groom him, by the time Peyton leaves, Indy would be looking for another stud QB, not Pryor.

He has good endorsements(Gruden, among others) and the intent is to groom to possibly be a starter in approx. 3 years. He has a pro body and arm and he is CLEARLY willing to work alot more than Jamarcus Fat-ass. Very athletic ...maybe enough to move to another position. As a 3rd or 4th round, I do not think it's that much of a risk. As opposed to Fat-ass, who got guarenteed money as the overall #1 pick, Pryor will be hungry to prove people wrong....as long as you dangle the carrot infront of him, I think he is willing to put the effort. Win-win IF he is picked 3rd or lower.

Personally, I think because of his size and the coaching he has gotten, he can be much better than Tebow.
