Pryor leaving OSU

Why is Pryor trying for the supplemental draft a big deal? I thought the rules in the NFL sated that you had to be out of high school for 3 years before being eligible for the draft. Being that he actually played three years, (even though they aren't counting last year) there should be no issues with him entering the draft. The only problem I could see is that he could have been late in applying.

Another part of the Suplimental Draft rules state that you have to have exhausted all of your Eligible playing time in college (as in not having any available time left). Which probably had a lot to do with OSU stating he was Not eligible to play in his Sr. season, after all this went down.

That tells you how much I know about the supplemental draft. Has there ever been anybody taken in the supplemental draft that has even amounted to anything in the NFL?

Bernie was a good, serviceable NFL QB. Not great, but a little better than average. Personally, to me, he was a better college QB than an NFL QB. But then again, he had better weapons at The U than he ever did as Brown.

Bernie, football smarts wise, was a student of the game. He wasn't the most athletic or most gifted, but he got the job done. And to this day is still a Cleveland fan favorite.

Being a fan favorite has nothing to do with how good he was as a QB. He is loved down here as much if not MORE because he brought The U it's very 1st championship. When it comes to football GODs down here, Marino is no doubt 1st, but Bernie is not too far behind.

How did you infer that?

Jag asked if there was ever a player selected in the supplemental draft that amounted to anything. And I answered with Bernie. So, YES, I did think Bernie was good.

Must have got signals crossed, I was refering to the fact that Kosar was a good NFL QB ... somehow that got messed up.

Ok, Now I will say that there was a player that amounted to something. After reading about Kosar, the only reason he was in the sup draft was due to only wanting to go to the Browns. He should have been forced into the regular draft.

The rules got changed because of what he did.

Some of those "Kosar" rules are what is preventing Pryor from just slipping into the Supplemental draft.

Pryor now eligible for Monday's NFL supplemental draft. However, he will not be allowed to practice or play for the first 5 weeks. Hmmm, interesting.
