I have ooma and love it. Got a linx. It's talking to ooma and has a dial tone when connected to a phone. It's set to phone mode. When connected to the genie, the phone numbers are not displaying on the screen even with caller ID notification turned on. When you call, the linx is flashing that it's receiving the call, the genie just isn't forwarding the info. It's plugged into the phone spot on the genie and ive reset the box. Can you suggest something to try? I'm keeping ooma, but may send back the linx if I can't get it to work.

Does the info show up on other phones while the lynx is hooked up ?

Do you have a stand alone CID unit at all, if so, plug it into the cord going to the genie and try it and make sure its working that way first.

We are dropping Cid support by the end of the year. But I believe this to be an issue with how ooma handles voip. I'm not sure it can be remedied

are you using an HR44-200 by chance? theres a known issue with the CID on those. will ahve to get a new genie (and lose recordings) if it is.

as far as i know the -700 and -500 are fine with CID. unfortunatly getting through to the person who actually *knows* these things is always more difficult that it ought to be.
