NHL 2011-12 Season

Some ugliness for the league...Ovechkin is not happy with his three game suspension, so he pulled himself out of the All-Star game. Not good.

This one may not be over yet.

Sandra

yeah he took his puck and went home. He is such a cry baby but the good news James Neil took his place he has better numbers this year.

Yeah, you can definitely make the argument Ovechkin doesn't even deserve to be in the All-Star game, but he was selected, and he should go. This is a black eye for the NHL.

No the fans did vote him in and he deserved it but the NHL should of put Neil in before Ovechkin quit. Yeah he is the second biggest name in the NHL he deserves the all star game but he ALSO needs to grow up and take his punishment like a man.

IMO he should of got five games since he was a repeat offender.

That entire answer is a bunch of crap. The rejection is all about Donald Fehr stepping up and rejecting something...anything...than what he rejected.

Now Fehr is going to do to the NHL what he did to MLB. Wonderful.

Sandra

Wow, you just don't trust anyone do you?

My opinion. That's what sports forums are for.

Do you think the reasons they gave for rejecting the realignment are really what's bothering the NHLPA?

Sandra

I think that they want to use it as a bargaining chip in the contract negotiations coming up and that is the real reason it was rejected.

I watched the Bruins-Capitals game on NESN last night, and couldn't believe all the "championship" banners hanging from the Verizon Center rafters! Directly behind Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley were probably about 10 banners for Atlantic Division Champions, Presidents Trophy Champions and my favorite one of all...........regular season Eastern Conference Champions!

I remember in the old Boston Garden rafters. On side you had the Bruins with oodles of Adams Division Champions and Prince of Wales Conference Champions, retired numbers, and a precious few Stanley Cup Champions sprinkled in. Then on the other side you had the Celtics NBA Championship banners and retired numbers, but NEVER a division or conference champion banner.

THAT was VERY embarrassing as a Bruins fan, but what's in the Verizon Center takes embarrassing to a new level! :o

I agree...what's next...rows of mini-banners for each win? Hang Stanley Cup banners and retired numbers and dispose of the snot-rags. ;)

Please feel free to disagree or not even care.

Sandra

Oh I disagree with you and I don't even care about your views so I guess it's a win, win for me.

LMAO Your Red Wings are a perfect example of teams that do it the right way. ONLY champonship banners!

Thankfully, the Bruins have disposed of those snot-rags! :D

Penguins have banners for Stanley cups, conference championships, division championships and scoring titles. Sorry for the bad picture, phone isn't that good.

Yeah, but at least the Pens have won some championships. If you looked real quick at the Caps banners, you'd swear they had a mega-dynasty!
