Realistically, 3/4 of the AFC West should be pretty happy with 7 wins. I'll be disappointed if the Chiefs aren't at least 8-8. Will be easier to figure out once the schedule is out (2-3 game stretches away from home to open/close a season are lame) and could change my expectations for them.
In 2006 the Broncos drafted Cutler, Marshall, Scheffler and Dumerville. 3 are gone, and Dumerville is skipping out of voluntary workouts in a contract dispute (with $$ being the reason Brandon Marshall was moved). How do you see this as progress and Denver not slipping behind an improved Chiefs or surprising Raiders this season? Scheffler and Marshall had more yards and TDs than the rest of the receivers combined.
Dumerville IS NOT in a contract dispute, at all. He is working out with his father in Florida. He is currently another victim of the CBA dispute, along with many other players in the NFL.
Marshall wanted out of Denver (it was his and his cousins' fault that Darrent Williams was killed, and I think that weighed on him), and Denver did not want to pay the upfront guaranteed money that Marshall wanted, due to his risk. Next infraction, automatic 8 game suspension. We will miss those 10 TD's, 100 catches and 1000 yards, no doubt, but let's watch the draft, first, um-kay?
Scheffler was really a non-factor last year (31 catches, 416 yds, 2 TD), and he has been injured a lot. He is not a BLOCKING TE, like Josh wants. Tony was unhappy when his girlfriend Cutler got let go, and was a bad seed in the locker room. He would have been cut, and we got a high 5th(the Browns). Now he can see Cutler twice a year from the cellar. AND if he turns into a corner, he can still catch a few from Cutler each game!
So, in the end, all the crybabies are gone, and we should be a better TEAM for it.
You should really stop your "analysis" of the Broncos, because you don't know what you're talking about. Unless it's just to piss me off.....
McDaniels is building "his team" with the draft. We now have two more seconds and a fifth, and we got rid of 2 players that didn't want to be here. And those 2 - 2nds, while equaling a first, will not cost us as dearly.
Before you continue predicting what the AFC West is gonna be like, shouldn't you at least wait until after the draft, and then you can begin speculating?
