NFL preseason 2010-2011 Official discussion thread!

Jake Delhomme has signed a 2 year contract with the Browns.

Bye Bye Brady. Unless they make him stick around and be #3
*shakes head*

I have a feeling we're drafting a QB. I'm fine with that as long as its not in the First round.

The Cleveland Browns reportedly signed quarterback Jake Delhomme out of free agency to a two year deal.
Delhomme comes to Cleveland shortly after the Browns acquired Seneca Wallace through a trade with the Seattle Seahawks.
The former Carolina Panthers quarterback was also being sought after by the New Orleans Saints.
In Delhomme's last season with the Panthers he threw for 2,015 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Delhomme signs a two year contract
From a Cleveland TV station. Pretty funny how they made no mention of his 18 INTs.:eek:

The 49ers have traded their best QB (IMO) to the Lions for a 7th round pick - Shaun Hill. Dude gets a chance and then whenever he shows glimpses of being awful he's pulled. At 10-16 on a not good 49ers team, he's won more games in the last 3 years than the Lions have.

LT appears close to signing with the Jets.

Because of how his contract was structured with the Panthers, Delhomme will make more from the Panthers next year than the Browns, bringing his total income to just under 20 million.

They've sent another former first round pick to the AFC West, LB Kamerion Wimbley is now a Raider.

The Raiders reportedly gave up this years 3rd round pick for Wimbley.

LT's deal with the Jets is 2 years for 5.3 million... no Delhomme deal for him!

Broncos have already re-named Orton the starter in Denver, who makes 2.6m next year compared to Quinn's $700k each of the next two years. Even if Orton flounders Quinn will probably see the same thing happen that happened last year - if he takes 70% of the snaps he earns another $5.9m for the final year of his contract. They will probably make sure he doesn't see that many snaps and keep Orton out there long after you'd expect him to be pulled.

Also from PFT:

For the Browns, the move closes the books on one of the worst recent trades since the Cowboys pillaged the Vikings in exchange for Herschel Walker more than 20 years ago. Cleveland gave up a high second-round pick in 2007 and a first-round pick in 2008 for the ability to pick Quinn. To the extent that anyone is still interested in trading for Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, that price tag should be kept in mind.
