NFL preseason 2010-2011 Official discussion thread!

Chester Taylor is a Chicago Bear.

Julius Peppers is taking a physical right now in Chicago, likely become a Chicago bear by the end of the day as well. Fearing he wouldn't leave Chicago or a ploy just to drive up his price, Peppers also reportedly also had offers from the Patriots and Eagles on the table.

Edit: I like Fujita a lot, wish he never left the Chiefs.

I need to look up the Cromartie gifs, I think it's funny he's a Jet, that guy almost single handedly lost the game for the Chargers in the playoffs by mis-playing the run... against the Jets. Perhaps in NY he can focus on football during his lawsuit for the $25k in child support he's behind on to his 7 kids in 5 states. Oh, and he's only 24 by the way.

With Chester Taylor now signed to another team, the Vikings are now allowed to sign 1 UFA, but only for as much as the 1st year of Taylor's contract.

Bears are the ones splashing, Lions are just one of their teams with their feet in the water at least, many teams doing next to nothing.

The Lions gave Burleson 11 mil guaranteed... he has put up just over 2k yards in the 5 seasons since his breakout 1000 yard year.

It is if you could pick Sam Bradford, Jimmy Clausen or Colt McCoy instead. I like Jason Campbell, but the potential of the top 3 incoming QB's in this draft are much greater.

Is someone offering Campbell for a # 1 ?

I did say Quality .... I would not consider Campbell to be there yet .... he's an avg QB in my book, so far.

But look where he's been playing and the potential of the QB's throwing the ball to him.
Detroit might not be much better place team wise, but they have a QB that is off to a good start.
Him and Johnson should make an interesting pair of WR's there.

Finally they have some NFL caliber players.

His QBs threw for a combined 17,476 yards over the same span, and he only played in 58 of 80 games.

Ravens are close to a deal for Boldin, disappointing because the Chiefs were one of the teams that were reportedly interested. For just a 3rd pick, many should be interested.

Bolden must think the Ravens are the best chance for him to get to the playoffs.

I would expect the Cards to be looking at signing a WR now that Boldin is gone, or do they feel good enough with Fitz and Ducet ?

Fitz, Ducet Breaston, they have bigger needs elsewhere, probably on defense after losing Rolle and Dansby. Biggest question on offense is if Lienart will show that he can be the guy for them going forward.

I forgot about Breaston, they should be all set at WR.

Wonder what other vet QB they will bring in as a back up, they may need one ..... Jeff Garcia would be a good fit.

I think they could be competing with Oakland for the services of Derek Anderson in a week or two. Not sure how much Garcia has in him, even though he didn't play last season, another year is another year. They'll want someone who can get the ball down the field to those wideouts, not a rollout and dump it off guy.

If JaMarcus can't unseat Gradkowski, I think he's done, possibly with football in general unless someone wants to take on a project like that. As a result, they'll need a servicable #2 QB.

I told you.

I never liked this guy. Further proof I suppose.

Proof ???? another one that got DROPPED, lack of proof, had test and it showed nothing.

Of course they are. Paul Brown would be rolling in his grave if he knew what a shamockery this Bengals franchise has become!

It has Potential at least ...

Are the Lions actually starting to become a Professional team now ?

Let's not go crazy here. I like what I'm seeing, BUT, this still is the Detroit Lions. You don't undo 52 years of futility in one or two seasons. I'll settle for a .500 season. Even that may still be a stretch. Still, this regime seems to be making better decisions than the MILLEN ERROR.
