NFL Lockout thread

Sometimes we Lions fans may take a sip or two of the Kool-Aid, but reality quickly sets in when we realize that William Clay Ford Jr. and family still owe this team. :(
I remember the days of the Rankin Smith family owning the Falcons. It was a bad time for us. Fortunately they were finally sold off to Arthur Blank and managed to gain some respectability.

The defense they have assembled is scary AND if they can keep the star in the making QB healthy... I say they will surprise alot of people.

Ok, I'll bite. Who in Oakland is the "star in the making" QB???

I was talking about Detroit. But since you mentioned the Raiders......

The Raiders are a running team and we have a QB that makes little mistakes in Jason Campbell. We have possibly on the better 1-2 running back punch in McFadden and Micheal Bush. We have a young aggressive defense and finally some stability at the coaching spot. They were a few plays away from going 9-7 or even 10-6. And yet, we they have one of the younger teams in the league averaging approx. 26 years old. IF they can seal Nnamdi, which there is a very good possibility still...they will be even better. Beating everyone in your division once is tough...going undefeated in your division means you have talent and possibilities.

The needing a "star" in Cleveland is what got you fans in trouble with the Cavs. You don't need a "star" to win in the NFL...you need stability.

You sure about that? Your new guy hasn't even coached a single game at the HC position. Your previous guy was fired after going 6-0 in the division. I'm not sure you should talk about stability.

So now you NEED head coaching experience to be a good coach? Really? If the concept was to only give opportunities to ONLY coaches that had HC experience, there would be less teams in the NFL AND alot of 80 and 90 year old coaches. And the Raiders went as far as they were going to go with Cable. Hue was part of the coaching staff last year, as well as most of the coaches on the team...there is no "new system" to learn. Same system, same coaches...they just have more responsibility.

You're the one that mentioned stability. You said your team is on the fast track for team stability, yet you haven't proven it since your owner keeps flip-flopping coaches every year.

:facepalm Jesus, Mary and Joseph.... we are gonna start this THIS early? At least wait till I have my coffee...:coffee

I know MY team and the fact that they promoted someone that was part of the same coaching staff and that is not going to change the current system they have... shows stability.

sta·bil·i·ty?

Firmness in position. Continuance without change; permanence.

The Raiders stayed "firm" on the philosophy of how they plan on running their football team by not changing the coaching staff and "continuing with the same" system they had before.

There....
