After two weeks with the Rams they have parted ways with Titus Young.

Colts have informed Austin Collie and Dwight Freeney they don't intend to resign them.

Reasons Why 49ers’ Alex Smith is Not Drawing Interest from NFL Teams
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/reasons-why-49ers-alex-smith-not-drawing-interest-164600361--nfl.html

While comparing Alex Smith's situation to Peyton Manning's last season is apples to oranges,I can understand why teams would rather wait until the 49ers release him before going after him. Why give up a draft choice(at least) for him in a trade, when it appears like the 49ers will HAVE to release him? Forgive me for bringing up the T(fill in the rest of the letters) T(ditto) word, but the Jets would have been best served by letting the Broncos be forced to release him,& that would also have tested Tebow's worth in the free agent market as to see who really wanted him. Alex Smith is worth a lot more than Tim Tebow,& you can get Smith for a steal once the 49ers are forced to release him.

Elway sticking by Osweiler decision
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/elway-sticking-osweiler-decision-134700937--nfl.html

I agree that drafting Brock Osweiler was a smart move by the Broncos. Like it or not,Osweiler IS the future starting QB of the Broncos & hopefully he'll learn a lot from Peyton Manning.

What's Elway going to say? "Yeah, we really effed up picking that stiff last year". Usually GM's pump up the tires of their picks until the day they cut them. Who really knows how good the guy is, just like the Patriots and Ryan Mallet.

You just never know until the guy gets extended playing time. Are these guys the heirs to replace future hall of famers? The odds are they're not. But we shall see.

Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck are the exception not the rule.

What was funny is that in the comment section someone called Brock Osweiler,"Manute Osweiler."

On a serious note, how many actually thought that Colin Kaepernick would turn out as great of a player as he did when he was drafted? We really don't know how Osweiler will turn out,I like his height & the fact that unless other teams start drafting 7 ft. defensive linemen patterned after Dikembe Mutombo("No,no,no,not today. Not in my house"),his passes should be hard to knock down & deflect from the line of scrimmage. If he can just follow the career path that Joe Flacco took as starting QB,he'll turn out just fine.

I have been following this myself. IF he WOULD HAVE done this when he was coming out of LSU...he would still be a Raider and he COULD HAVE been a pretty good QB. But young, stupid and LOVING food too much is a real bad combination.

if he could've eaten that pack of hot dogs on the back of his neck he would've :D

Not a fan, but probably better than the QB we would have picked with our second pick.

Only consolation for me is we have a coach that tends to get the most from his QBs.

Nice effort by SF in getting that very early 2nd round pick. Some 'experts' on TV recently were saying the best they would get in return was a 3rd rounder....
