Personally, the idea of 18 games is nothing more than an owners ploy to get even MORE money out of the fans. Hell, I would not be surprised if this wasn't more of a push by the networks that carry the games.

They are already getting much of that money from fans, as season ticket holders are charged full price for preseason and admission is charged for those games.

Also, any money the owners get also increases the money the players get for the most part...

Cedric Benson declined contracts from 2 teams before signing with the Packers, being reported that the teams were the Lions and Raiders.

About signing with the Packers:

Good for those teams, because he has been nothing but hurt the last few seasons.

They already get that money. If you buy season tickets they force you to buy the pre-season games too.

Hopefully the Cowboys will figure out how to win and get back in the playoffs and win there. It's been too long since they last appeared in the Super Bowl....

The last 3 seasons combined he's only missed 4 games, started all the games he played in, and rushed for 3k yards.

For the Lions, that is more than the top 2-3 backs on their roster have put together in each of the past 3 years, and for Oakland he outperformed their leading rusher 2 of those 3 years (DMC has him by 40 yards one year).

The Raiders backs catch a lot more passes, but that's because their receiving core is so bad that their last 1k receiver was Randy Moss just going through the motions in 2005.

Packers got him for peanuts too, veteran minimum $825k and drops to $325k if he gets put on IR.

Some players want to win more than they want the money.

This will hurt the Cowboys. Jason Witten out for at least the rest of the preseason possibly longer with a spleen injury from hit laid on him by Raiders Monday night.

Yeah, if he ends up needing surgery he's lost for the season.

Going to be a long season in Dallas.

Your opinion. The receivers are pretty good just extremely young.

From what I have read, the Cowboys maybe at their weakest in the offensive line. Romo was running for his life when the 1st team for the Raiders front line were in.

Offensive line looked terrible and losing Witten isn't helping Romo any, as he is Romo's go to guy if he needs to get rid of it quick

I heard there is ALOT of young players on the Cowboys and that management is waiting for them to mature or hope they mature quickly.
