NFL 2012-13 Season

You will get more people to 'real games' than games that mean nothing.

Would YOU pay to go to a meaningless game?

I already do. We have season tickets, and since ALL Broncos games are SOLD OUT to season ticket holders (something Oakland or most other teams wouldn't know about ;)), the owner already gets the same money as a regular game.

And there were two people before me who already told you the same thing.

tell me about it. last season the local cbs station purchased the remaining tickets a few times so the game wouldn't be blacked out.

Now this is the question I always had, with the speed AND size that Usain Bolt has, would he have the hands to go with being a NFL receiver?
Could Usain Bolt play in the NFL? Just for fun, here's six teams he might help

And I know I'm not the only one who ever thought about this.
As I remember, Bolt actually worked out for the Chargers (how appropriate) after the last Olympics.

More than half of all Oakland Raider games in the last 17 years have been blacked out (59 televised, 72 blacked out), which is partly why they're participating in the new program this year that only requires them to sell 85% of their tickets to avoid a blackout. The catch is any proceeds above that 85% will go more towards the visiting team than usual.

Since 1995, last year is the first year there were no blackouts in Oakland. Not sure how many sponsors had to buy tickets to make that happen, Oakland is the 2nd smallest venue in the NFL at over 63k seats.

Raiders adopt 85 percent threshold for home ticket sales

Chargers the last few years are probably even uglier statistically despite doing much better on the field, didn't see an article at a glance to bring all their stats together.

ANYONE that would pay to watch exhibition games is crazy and throwing away their money. You wouldn't pay for a concert that SAYS(and I do not know what your taste in music is) 'U2 in concert' and sit through 3 or 4 hours to see them play MAYBE 2 or 3 songs.

BUT, to each his own I guess.

If you buy NFL season tickets, you DO NOT have a choice. The preseason tickets come with the package. This has been discussed many times before and you should know that by now.

Of course, if we didn't HAVE TO purchase them, we wouldn't.

Call me crazy, but I enjoy seeing my team live, maybe you do not, you just like to waste your money going to see them. (They usually lose anyway)

I love seeing my team. I travel to multiple games a year, especially if they are on the East coast. But I would never pay for an exhibition game. I would much rather pay for individual games as opposed to season ticket package to avoid exhibition games.

And as for the last comment....well, LOL! ... par for the course. In the last 3 years, the Raiders have a BETTER record than your Broncos.. So I would not toot that "they usually lose anyway" horn TOO much....;)

call me a wacko because i'll take preseason anytime than no football.:eek:

last year, there was alot of anticipation for the team..and considering everything the team went through. This year, it is expected that every home will be soldout like last year. As far as sponsors buying tickets, it happens in every stadium for every team for every sport.

Last year Oakland offered 2-for-1 tickets in the weeks leading up to home game to prevent blackouts.

This year they don't have to do that because they only have to fill up 85% of the stadium, but instead give up some revenue for tickets sold above and beyond that.

Big games like the Chiefs coming to town shortly after the Palmer trade and tied for the division lead with the Chargers still required an extension to the deadline.

With no team here, i'd pay to watch a preseason game between probably any two teams. Not $60 or something though.

I am hopeful that once there is an 18 game season that perhaps regular neutral site games can be introduced into the schedule, allowing a number of other cities to host NFL games, preseason or otherwise.
