This is what I wanted to see out of my Raiders:

1) A fresh, healthy a fast as hell McFadden.
2) An improved discipline to avoid penalties.
3) Some proof that Pryor has improved.

What I was disappointed to see or not see:

1) Taiwan Jones was injured.
2) Jacobs Ford with balls going through his hands(INT in 1st series), mistakes in punt returns and kick offs and a couple of dropped passes.
3) DVD playing too soft at the CB spot.

pre season don't mean jack either way. so predicting success or failure at this point is ridiculous imo...

lets see.... miami in the last decade has had some pretty good preseasons just to lay a big fat egg for the regular season. nuff said.

all i look at in the preseason is depth at the positions and not execution of plays on either side of the ball.

Yup. I just want to make sure everyone on BOTH teams has no significant injuries. Pre-season can be more import with young teams, teams with the coaching staff or new QB.

I hope to do well with my preseason predictions.

I had some legendarily bad picks in 2008.

I had the Lions going 10-6 and the Ravens/Falcons as the worst teams in the league- Detroit went 0-16, while Baltimore and Atlanta were both 11-5.

I think it's important for rookies, new player and ones coming off injury.

Results mean sh!t, there is no game planning or specific schemes.

You weren't the only one. Someone (I think it may have been you, Sabres) asked who would be the worst team in 2008, and I replied it would be between the Ravens, Falcons and Dolphins. ALL THREE teams went 11-5 and made the playoffs.

Totally agree. At the very worse, you want to come out as injury free as possible.

That's why exhibition games should be reduced to 2 games & then go ahead & expand the season to 18 games. If players are going to be injured, let them be injured in games that mean something.

Then you'll be lacking in depth, as it is the Starters only play a total of about 1 game together in the poreseason, thats why games in the beginning of the season are often sloppy.

All the players that are NOT starters would suffer in your scenario as they will no longer get time to show what they can do for the coaches.

Preseason will be reduced by 2 before the season goes to 18 as leverage. The owners or league were given that authority. Players will then share the revenue loss or allow two regular season games to be added.

Can't happen soon enough.

It's strange, but when the Patriots were bad to mediocre, I enjoyed their preseason games so much more.

Now I watch these games with my heart in my throat. Especially when I see Brady take a hit like he did last Thursday night!

correct! the season imo should be left as is. i'll say it again, more isn't always better.

Bengals win the division this year. Mark my words. :)

Cedric Benson declined contracts from 2 teams before signing with the Packers, being reported that the teams were the Lions and Raiders.

About signing with the Packers:

Ideally under an 18 game season we'd have the revised IR rules tweaked even further, but the NFLPA won't even approve new rules that help their own membership at this point because it means going along with the NFL on something. Also why apparently the trade deadline won't be extended to week 8.

i definitely like the idea of extending the trade deadline.

oh.... you didn't know he's part owner of the broncos?????? hope that wasn't a secret :shh

Personally, the idea of 18 games is nothing more than an owners ploy to get even MORE money out of the fans. Hell, I would not be surprised if this wasn't more of a push by the networks that carry the games.
