NFL 2009-10 Season

Oh yeah, can't wait. Scratch that, I can wait, as a matter of fact, I'll probably do anything possible to avoid watching. Possible activities -

1) Go stand in line somewhere
2) Get my ass kicked
3) Fight with my wife. Wait a minute, that's the same as #2.
4) Get hit by a car

Could start a thread about the disparity between punishment for crimes via courts and via personal conduct policy, that could last you the rest of the preseason.

Though I'd rather jump out in front of number 4 after they flashed their lights at me.

Florio makes a good point this morning about the NFL being in a tough spot over the Raider stuff. Something did happen, punch or otherwise, and if they don't do anything about it then they create a double standard after Steve Smith was suspended 2 games last season for fighting with a teammate.

The will likely fine him an undisclosed amount and maybe suspend him one...IF he didn't actually punch him and 3 or 4 if he did. Which I could live with, regardless of what a investigation come up with. EITHER WAY, he has gained some serious respect point from that players showing that even coaches that bad mouth 'the team' is not above "team punishment"....

I'm available if you want a good ass kicking. :D

Anders, your Tar Heels did that for me back in April. Stevo, that's really funny.:D:D:D

after that "totally awesome" picture WWJ put up for the Falcons game  you mean you're not gonna watch??

I got to see parts of the game (tape delayed) on WWJ via Shaw Direct (Starchoice). Where the hell did they get the cameras from?
Public Access?
The Dumont Museum?
Someones house?
K-Mart?

The picture looked like crap. I know WWJ said it was an issue with the uplink truck and they have it fixed for next game....but come on...It wasnt even in HD!!

More on Marshall's unhapiness... so much wrong with the management in Denver right now. Are they going to cycle through all of their good players before finally changing what's wrong?

"Unfortunately, sometimes it gets to that point," Marshall said. "There are trust issues on both sides. It’s understandable. We’ve got to try our best to move forward."

He said he was starting to work past his issues with the team, but he was upset on Friday when he said a public-relations staffer told Broncos players not to act too happy for Marshall after he was found not guilty of a misdemeanor battery charge in Atlanta.

"I think the biggest thing was, it was really disappointing hearing that some of my teammates on one of the best days of ... for the past three years, of my life, some of my teammates were coached to say ‘Don’t say you’re happy for Brandon,'" Marshall said.

"That situation, we feel like we've tried to handle it the best we could after something like that came out, but trying to get everyone's mind back on football," Broncos coach Josh McDaniels said.

ESPN U, from last several years

Raiders released FB Lorenzo Neal, love that guy, if he's got anything left in the tank I hope a good team picks him up. He was dropped cause they needed a roster spot for S Rashad Baker.

I think it was a combination of BOTH little left in the tank and numbers. Thye wanna keep almost all of the running backs with no one being older/more wornout than Justin Fargas.

Over on PFT they were talking about how the Raiders threw 5 picks today against the 49ers in practice, and that Cable is probably so made he could punch someone.

Or flip them out of a chair.

Or do both.

..and then....

After a disaster in the morning practice, JaMarcus Russell was able to put it behind him, keep his composure and look much improved in the evening workout.

TC day XXII wrapup: Oakland Raiders done with San Francisco 49ers

Some signs of maturity...the Russell of LAST YEAR would have sulked and stunk up the place just as bad in the 2nd practice. THIS, plus the fact that they expect Chaz Schilens to be out only 4-6 weeks as opposed to 6-8 is GREAT news!

If Marshall gets traded, the Broncos will finish with the worst record in all of football.

Josh McDaniels is destroying the team.

Amen brother. However, it all starts at the top. Remember back when Shanahan was fired? Remember how shocked I was? Shanahan shouldn't have been fired in the first place. The new regime is destroying this once proud franchise....

Dude's 38 years old. That might be a record for the oldest FB ever in this league! I suppose it's a testament to how great Lorenzo was, but typically after the age of 30, RB's/FB's lose their effectiveness. At the age of 38, it's a wonder he can still be effective at all.
