NFL 2009-10 Season

Beanie Wells was carted off the field his first day of practice... but turns out to only be a sprain and he could practice today possibly.

Interesting, I just read an article that talked about how he came into camp much lighter around 220 vs 240 and felt much quicker and better.
Hopefully this is a minor issue for him.
btw, he obviously signed or he wouldn't be at practice.

Beanie signed in the wee hours of the night before camp started. He was in town, so as soon as he signed, he made a point to be at the first practice just a few hours later...

Poor Beanie though. His very first practice and left with an injury. This was the only mark on him coming out of College. If he could've proven that he could stay healthy, he would've been a top 3 pick. If he does stay healthy as a Pro though, the Cards will have gotten a steal.

Update from Browns Camp....

Derek Anderson threw for 2 long TD's in a scrimmage to Brady Quinn's 0. One of DA's long balls was caught by a blazing fast Brian Robiskie!

Needless to say, the QB controversy will live on for another day.

I saw an ad for the HBO series Hard Knocks which is following the Bengals training camp and it got me to thinking why are they not at the Lions training camp? How funny would that be? Everyone arrives on the first day and they're all optimistic. Then they start practice and cracks begin to show. But the players keep their spirits up until the first exhibition where they commit 6 turnovers and lose 35-0. Would the coaches even yell at the players or would they just form one big prayer circle? It would be even funnier when the Lions have to cut players off the team. Imagine the coaches telling some guy "Son there's a minimal level of talent that is required to wear a Detroit Lions uniform and you don't have it." :haha Why can't we see this? Forget about the Bengals. No one has ever gone 0-16 before. I want to see how they try to prepare for this season.

No matter how much things change, they remain the same in Detroit.

Just once I would like to be wrong about the Lions....

Antonio Pierce won't see charges for his part in the Plaxico stuff (should have, but good testimonials got the grand jury to ignore his potential charges... we'll see if Goodell is as forgiving)

Plaxico will, barring an 'OJ miracle' as PFT put it, be going to jail.

Raiders shopping holdout DE Burgess (again)

If he could stay healthy, he could have stayed in school, I think he went because he didn't want to get injured again this year and then NOT get drafted.

Robiskie FAST ?

He wasn't in the top 3 at OSU ....

So , a guy is hangin out with a friend and they go to the bar, they guy is carrying a gun, but the friend doesn't know this, the guy shoots himself.

How is the other guy in trouble ?

Unless I missed a huge part of this story.

Cleo Lemon was going to be brought in to compete to backup Brady, but with Andrew Walter cut by the Raiders he's expected to be the man brought in instead.

Neither guy will see the field.
You can bet that should Brady go down, they will be on the phone REAL quick.

btw, has Leftwich signed with anyone ?

When the friend takes the firearm home with him, he could also be charged with possession of a illegal firearm. He wasn't, but since he admitted to doing as much, Goodell could still come down on him if he wanted to.

Either way, Andrew Walter was signed, and to make room on the roster, they cut his competition, QB Matt Gutierrez. I've never heard of him, but before Cassel stepped in for Tom Brady, he was believed/expected to pass Cassel on the depth chart during the season.

As PFT says... "Now Cassel is the $63mil man, and Gutierrez is looking for work."

Also, Panthers lost starting DT Maake Kemoeatu for the season to an ACL tear.
