NFL 2009-10 Season

:up:up
Mangini has this team playing hard......We can finally see that there is a method behind his madness. Sadly, I think Holmgrem is going to get hired as GM and his first move is going to be to fire Mangini.
Nah, the first would be to order new office furniture. Second move would be to reinstate the mural of Browns Hall of Famers. The third would be to can Mangini's ass.....

Its not the coach, its the half assed offense.
Thats whats wrong with the Browns.
Beside Cribbs and Harrison, that offense is really baaaaaad...they are teh suck.
Sorry but a head coach can't change a team if their players just suck bad.
Brady Quinn was all hype.

I think that Holgrem should be the COACH, then I think he would get them back to respectability.

The "It's not the coach is partly true, but if you have a Good/Great Coach, players will want to play for you and the FA will decide that it's worthwhile to come and play there.

If you have a coach that doesn't get it done then FA's won't want to come there and it would take a lot longer to become good again.

Wow. All of you outsiders are so inciteful. Thank you so much for your thoughts.

First off, we are in the middle of a rebuild. That should explain our amature offense. Sorry we're not the '07 NE Pats. We traded away pretty much all of our offensive weapons (Edwards & Winslow Jr.). Our other wideouts/tight ends are either retired and/or suspended (Jurivicious & Stallworth). We have two rookies as wide receivers (Massaqoui and Robiskie). Our starting running back retired this year following his season ending injury (Lewis). We are still trying to figure out who our future QB is (Quinn or Anderson).

Like I said, the season could've been a horrible disaster when we started 1-11. Instead, the team is still fighting and just rattled off 2 in a row. Suck on that haters! ;) :p  :D

Holmgren Agrees to be next Browns Prez!!!

YES VIRGINIA, THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS!!!!

[ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4762828"]Mike Holmgren agrees to deal as Cleveland Browns president - ESPN[/ame]

Well, you have to be realistic that if the Browns are going to invest in the neighborhood of $50M on Holmgren he will bring in football people he knows and can trust. Can you honestly see Mangini being one of those guys??

I say Mangini will become the new head coach of the Hartford UFL expansion franchise next season. Might as well resurrect your career where you grew up!! :up

I am willing to put all trust in Holmgren at this point. Personally I like what I see from Mangini and if I were Holmgren, I would give Mangini the benefit of the doubt and keep him, especially in considering what he's accomplishing with a bunch of nobodies, but I digress. It is completely up to Holmgren now. He is a proven leader and a proven success in this league. I am just thrilled that we have a credible leader to make these decisions. Before, it was all Randy Lerner who has no credibility to make any sort of football related decisions.

They showed the video of where Theismann got his leg broke by LT again. I cringe every time I see it and I was watching it live the day it happened.

I had a dream!

I had an awesome dream last night! In it, the Browns and Lions met in the Super Bowl! Can you believe it?!

Signing Holmgren is getting me all pumped up and has clearly been weighing heavily on my sleeping conscious. I hope my dreams come true! Detroit fans deserve some success too. This Super Bowl would be so great for both fan bases!

Go Browns!

Uh-oh, trouble in Viking land. Brett being Brett.

You know, perhaps at this age Favre only has 11 games in him each year. He was 8-3 with the Jets last year, and things may be falling apart up there now too...

What was the method behind the madness? Stick with DA for way too long after giving Quinn no chance to prove himself, and run Jamal Lewis into the ground so you could IR him and hope the guys behind him can make a move?

A win is a win, but your defense still gave up 300 yards passing (Cassel's first as a Chief) and 150 yards on the ground, this is being overshadowed by Harrison's performance, but you won't win many games allowing that much.

Like I said in the Oakland thread, don't let a win or two change your mind about what needs to change in Cleveland.

In related news, Kokinis has filed for arbitration to get $4m from the Browns.
The method to his madness is that he has gotten rid of the me-first players and now has a bunch of unheard-ofs playing their asses off at the end of a dreadful season. This is exactly what he said he'd do......

I'm not a huge fan of Mangini by any means.......I just hate to have to start over with a new coach AGAIN.

WHEN Holmgrem fires him, I'll be OK with it though. You have to let the boss pick his own people....

And I'm the one who can't let things go?!?! :)

And with that absurd play at the end of the half, the Redskins franchise his somehow manage to reach a new low.

Watching that game reminded me of the movie "Semi Tough", where the line decides to let the QB take all the abuse possible. The OL of the Redskins should be embarrassed, at least.

That play reminded me of the "brilliant" on-side kick by the Steelers this weekend. And not only did they set up for that silly assed fake FG once, they did it TWICE. WTH??????? The interception by the Giants was not unexpected. :) At least that did provide some comedy for the fans, who had nothing else to smile about. The 45-12 beatdown the Redskins took was not really as close as the score would lead you to believe.
